Dated: October 08, 2015
Vaicom 18’s Nickelodeon India is all set to launch India's first high definition (HD) children's channel ‘NickHD+’. The Nickelodeon channel will comprise both international and local content, including a new animated action comedy series called Shiva, which is scheduled for launch this Diwali. 'Shiva', Nickelodeon's third made-in-India animated series, falls in the high octane action-comedy genre.
According to the channel, it is the story of a nine-year-old 'brave, fearless and intelligent' boy who stays in Vedas city, and saves it from various incidents and threats with cool gadgets like the super bike developed by him. Comprising an initial 26 episodes of 22 minutes duration, Shiva will be aired during prime afternoon and evening slots.
Talking about how the business has been in the green, with overall reach having gone up significantly, Viacom18's EVP and business head, kids cluster, Nina Elavia Jaipuria, says, "Endearing characters, path-breaking content and pioneering initiatives have scripted Nickelodeon's leadership and success story. The launch of Nick HD+ and 'Shiva' are significant milestones in the category."
Nick HD+ will be available on all of India's major pay-TV platforms, both direct-to-home (DTH) and cable.
