Kalyan Jewellers inks exclusive partnership with Flipkart

Kerala-based jewellery brand Kalyan Jewellers  has announced its foray in the e-commerce segment and will offer gold and diamond jewellery on retail major Flipkart's e-commerce platform. Over 1200 jewellery merchants have upwards of 300, 000 listings of products on Flipkart, the company also has tie-ups with online jewellery portals like Bluestone and Caratlane.

"We will dedicate a certain segment of our gold and diamond products, ranging from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 3 lakh, exclusively for Flipkart. These have been exclusively designed for Flipkart," said Ramesh Kalyanaraman, Executive Director, Kalyan Jewellers.

The foray into e-commerce provides Kalyan with the opportunity to target discretionary expenditure of customers especially in the gifting segment, he said in a company statement. Over a thousand designs from Kalyan Jewellers from across the country and beyond will be made available on Flipkart.

The online retailer offers two lines of jewellery —artificial and precious jewellery. "In the next one year, we expect this category to grow at more than double the rate of the fashion and lifestyle category," said Rishi Vasudev, Vice President, Fashion at Flipkart.
