Medulla Bags 'Healthcare Agency of the Year' title at Cannes Lion 2016

Mumbai-based independent agency medulla Communications bagged the Healthcare Agency of the year title at the Lions Health bringing India to its front foot at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2016. This is the first time an Indian agency has been judged Agency of the year in this or indeed any other category. Medulla Communications has won seven Lions in total - Two Gold, two Silver and three Bronze. The work on ‘Last Words’ for Indian Association of Palliative Care bagged the golds.

"This year we had higher expectations from ourselves but wanted to make sure awards reflected on growth in business. We are a self-funded agency and can't afford the luxury of entering just for glory," says Praful Akali, the agency's founder-director.

The agency also bagged a Silver Lion and Bronze Lion for GSK’s Slum for Worms in the Pharma, Vaccines and Biotech – Branded Communication category. The agency also bagged 2 Bronze Lions for its work on Johnson and Johnson’s ADHD Symptom stamps in Pharma, Vacines and Biotech-Branded Communication category.

29 more shortlists have been announced in Print & Publishing, Direct, Promo & Activation, Radio, and Glass Lions with several agencies including Ogilvy, J Walter Thompson, Taproot, Dentsu Creative Impact, L&K Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, Bates CHI & Partners, BBDO, and Contract in the running. We'll know if well begun is well done in a day or two.
