Oppo Mobiles Bags Team India’s sponsorship Rights for Rs 1,079 crore

The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday said mobile manufacturer Oppo would replace Star India as its Team India lead sponsor. The company bagged the sponsorship rights for a sum of Rs 1,079.29 crore for five years.
According to the official communique shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the bids were opened today in the presence of a CoA representative - Diana Edulji, BCCI officials, and the bidders through a tender process at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.
The five years rights period starts on April 1, 2017 and continues until March 31, 2022. This period will see Team India play 14 home series and 20 overseas series, including ICC Champions Trophy, ICC Cricket World Cup and the World T20 events.
Speaking on the occasion Rahul Johri - CEO, BCCI, says, "On behalf of the BCCI, I would like to congratulate OPPO Mobiles India, on winning the rights and welcome them to the BCCI family. OPPO today, joins our other prominent sponsors such as PayTM, PepsiCo, Hyundai and Janalakshmi Financial Services. OPPO Mobiles and the BCCI share a common vision and I am confident that we will work together to further grow Indian cricket."
