British fashion retailer NEXT plc has deepened its India expansion with the launch of new stores for women, men and children in Bengaluru, signalling growing confidence in the country’s fashion-forward consumer base. Situated at Phoenix Mall of Asia, the stores bring the brand’s contemporary British aesthetic to one of India’s most dynamic retail hubs.
The opening follows recent store inaugurations in Pune and Hyderabad, forming part of NEXT’s broader strategy to scale its footprint in India in partnership with Myntra’s B2B wholesale arm, Myntra Jabong India Pvt. Ltd. (MJIPL), and its licensed franchise partners. Under this arrangement, MJIPL holds the rights to distribute NEXT’s portfolio through a franchise-led model, reinforcing a growing omni-channel presence that integrates physical retail with digital reach.
Founded in 1982, NEXT has built a reputation for offering accessible, design-led fashion rooted in a distinctly British sensibility. With more than 460 stores in the UK and over 265 international franchise locations, alongside online operations spanning 80 countries, the brand has steadily evolved into a global high-street staple.

The layout reflects NEXT’s global store philosophy, with clearly defined zones and a seamless customer journey. Shoppers can browse close to 500 styles across apparel categories, showcasing a blend of everyday essentials and occasion wear aligned with contemporary tastes.

The collection focuses on practical yet stylish summer essentials such as T-shirts, dresses, shorts, denims and swimwear, positioning the brand to tap into what it views as an underserved segment in India’s children’s fashion market.
The assortment across both stores has been tailored to Bengaluru’s cosmopolitan lifestyle and climate, with an emphasis on smart-casual silhouettes, lightweight layering pieces and versatile wardrobe staples. A seasonal resort and beachwear line has also been introduced, alongside select exclusive in-store drops aimed at enhancing the shopping experience.
Venu Nair, Chief of Strategic Partnerships and Omni-channel at Myntra, said the expansion reflects strong consumer traction in a key metropolitan market.
