Spotify India has launched a new campaign featuring eight films in five languages that transform everyday chores into music moments. Highlighting how listeners integrate music into routine tasks, the campaign draws on research showing Spotify’s role in daily life and India’s vibrant music ecosystem, running across TV, digital and social platforms.

Spotify India has unveiled a new campaign that reimagines household chores as music moments, underscoring the platform’s role in everyday life. The initiative comprises eight short films produced in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bhojpuri, each portraying how music elevates routine tasks such as ironing, washing dishes, mopping floors and fixing lightbulbs.

The films capture light-hearted scenarios that highlight the joy of listening while working through mundane duties. In one, a man misinterprets his wife’s repeated “Aha!” as admiration for his hairstyle, only to realise she is singing along while ironing clothes. Another depicts a roommate washing dishes with unusual enthusiasm, powered by the rhythm of a favourite track.

Spotify’s research reveals the depth of this connection: 97% of Indian users say the platform makes mundane activities more enjoyable, while 98% consider it essential to their daily routine.

Additionally, 71% report feeling relaxed when listening. Shipra Srivastava, Head of Marketing at Spotify India, explained: “There’s something universal about how music changes the texture of a moment.

It doesn’t matter what language you speak or what chore you’re doing, when the right song comes on, the task feels different. For millions of listeners, these are already music moments.”

The campaign also reflects Spotify’s broader Indian music ecosystem. According to its latest Loud & Clear report, Indian artists were streamed nearly 335 billion times in 2025, accounting for more than 20 billion hours of listening. Royalties for Telugu artists grew by more than 120% year on year, while Malayalam and Tamil artists saw increases of over 30% and 20%, respectively. These figures highlight the platform’s role in amplifying regional music and connecting diverse audiences.

By weaving together relatable everyday experiences with the richness of India’s music culture, Spotify aims to reinforce its position as an indispensable companion to daily routines. The campaign will run for five weeks across television, digital and social platforms, inviting audiences to see chores not as burdens but as opportunities to create small, joyful music moments.
