At NXTinAI in Hyderabad, Galleri5 AI Studio of Collective Artists Network unveiled its vision of AI-powered cinema. Demonstrating 4K output, AI VFX, avatars and agentic filmmaking, the event marked a shift from experimental AI video to full-length theatrical production, positioning India at the forefront of AI-native storytelling innovation.
At Park Hyatt Hyderabad, Galleri5 AI Studio, part of Collective Artists Network, staged NXTinAI, a landmark event bringing together filmmakers, producers, creators and technology leaders to showcase how artificial intelligence is moving from experimentation into professional, long-form and theatrical production. The gathering highlighted the company’s ambition to take AI-generated video beyond phones and social feeds, onto the cinema screen itself.
Galleri5 has already begun this transition. Its technology stack powered Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh for Star Plus and JioHotstar, introducing AI-native storytelling into mainstream television. More recently, it has been driving Chiranjeevi Hanuman with Star Studio18, a full-length AI feature designed for theatrical release, with a teaser already screened in cinemas. NXTinAI marked the next step in this journey, demonstrating the infrastructure required to make AI work at the scale, quality and ambition demanded by cinema.
The event showcased a wide range of capabilities: 4K cinematic output, AI-powered VFX, AI actors and avatars, consistent characters and worlds, live-action-to-AI workflows, agentic filmmaking and production pipelines tailored for long-form entertainment. Rather than focusing on isolated models or demonstrations, Galleri5 emphasised how these technologies integrate into the filmmaking process, guiding projects from script and visual development through character creation, shot design, VFX and post-production, all the way to the cinema screen.
Hyderabad was chosen deliberately as the venue. The city represents one of India’s largest filmmaking ecosystems alongside a thriving technology community. Galleri5’s ambition is to unite these worlds, building technology that can be adopted across the wider creative industry. Vijay Subramaniam, Founder & Group CEO of Collective Artists Network, explained: “Every generation of storytellers gets a new technology that changes what they can imagine and create. We believe AI is one of those shifts. Our bet on Galleri5 was never about making AI content for the internet. It was about what happens when this technology moves into television, films and ultimately into bigger screens and a lower barrier to entry for creators. India has the talent, stories and filmmaking culture to build and lead this next chapter of entertainment technology.”
Rahul Regulapati, Founder & CEO of Galleri5 and Partner at Collective Artists Network, added: “AI is moving into theatrical filmmaking. We have already taken AI-native storytelling to television and AI film work to cinema screens. The next challenge is building the technology to make full-length cinematic production possible at scale. 4K, VFX, consistent characters, AI actors and agentic production are all pieces of that problem. NXTinAI brings those pieces together and shows what happens when AI moves from experimentation into real production. We believe a new way of making movies is beginning, and we want India to be at the centre of it.”
A central feature of NXTinAI was the Galleri5 AI Experience Centre, where filmmakers and creators engaged directly with the technology across visual development, character creation, AI VFX, avatars, cinematic video and filmmaking workflows. Importantly, Galleri5’s technology is being built from real production challenges. Lessons learned from television, films, advertising and long-form entertainment feed directly into the development of new workflows and tools within Galleri5 AI Studio. The result is technology designed not merely to generate content, but to solve the complex creative and production problems inherent in making it.
By bridging India’s creative and technological strengths, Galleri5 is positioning itself as a pioneer in AI-native cinema, signalling a future where artificial intelligence becomes a central collaborator in storytelling at scale.
