Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABDL), one of India’s leading spirits companies, has officially announced the appointment of Arvind Mohta as its new Marketing Director, effective May 14, 2025. This strategic leadership move signals ABDL’s renewed focus on brand innovation, market expansion, and consumer-centric marketing.

Mohta takes over the reins from Arvind Hangal, who served as Marketing Director and Strategic Management Partner (SMP). Hangal has stepped down from his current role, effective May 13, 2025, and will transition into a new leadership position at ABD Maestro Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ABDL. His resignation has been formally acknowledged by the company.

Bringing with him nearly 20 years of multifaceted experience in sales, marketing, and brand strategy, Arvind Mohta has held influential roles at industry giants such as United Spirits (Diageo), Johnson & Johnson, Jubilant Industries, Mahindra Holidays, and Pernod Ricard. His deep-rooted expertise spans the full spectrum of commercial strategy—from building iconic brands and crafting impactful marketing campaigns to spearheading successful new product launches across diverse Indian and global markets.

During his tenure at United Spirits, Mohta played a pivotal role in the successful launch of a mass-market brand extension and was key in repositioning several marquee brands within the Diageo Reserve portfolio. His forward-thinking approach combined traditional brand-building techniques with digital-first strategies, helping to solidify market presence and consumer engagement. Additionally, as a founding member of Brand Touch and Analytics, Mohta has demonstrated a strong grasp of data-driven marketing, consumer insights, and innovative analytics-led storytelling.

In his new role at ABDL, Mohta is expected to drive the company’s next phase of growth by strengthening its marketing ecosystem, refreshing legacy brands, and accelerating new innovations that resonate with the evolving preferences of India’s growing consumer base.

The leadership change underscores ABDL’s commitment to bringing in top-tier talent to stay ahead in the competitive Indian alcobev market while also preparing for expansion into new segments and geographies.
