The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will lead the India Design Mission to Germany from 8–12 June 2026, offering Indian delegates direct access to Germany’s design-led industries, advanced manufacturing practices, and sustainability models. The initiative aims to foster global partnerships and strengthen India’s competitiveness through design-driven innovation.

India’s design and innovation ecosystem is set to take a significant leap forward this summer as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announces the India Design Mission to Germany, scheduled from 8–12 June 2026. The initiative will bring together a focused delegation of Indian professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to explore how design excellence drives industrial innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability in one of the world’s most advanced economies.

Germany has long been recognised as a global hub for design-led industries, with its manufacturing sector integrating creativity, engineering precision, and sustainability at every level. The mission will provide Indian participants with direct access to these practices, offering insights into how design thinking is embedded into advanced manufacturing, product development, and industry-academia collaborations. By engaging with German institutions and companies, delegates will gain exposure to models that have successfully balanced industrial growth with environmental responsibility, a priority increasingly shared by India’s own industries.

The India Design Mission is not merely an observational exercise but a platform to build meaningful partnerships. Delegates will have opportunities to connect with German counterparts, explore collaborative projects, and identify pathways for joint innovation. With design becoming a critical differentiator in global markets, the mission underscores India’s intent to strengthen its creative economy and position itself as a competitive force in international trade.

For India, the timing is crucial. As industries across the country embrace sustainability and digital transformation, design is emerging as a strategic tool to enhance product value, improve user experience, and drive global recognition. The mission aims to accelerate this momentum by exposing Indian businesses to Germany’s integrated approach, where design is not an afterthought but a core driver of industrial excellence.

Participation in the mission is limited, with expressions of interest currently being invited. Interested professionals and organisations are encouraged to register promptly to secure their place in this high-impact delegation. The initiative promises not only knowledge exchange but also the potential to shape India’s design narrative on the global stage.

Those seeking further details or wishing to register can reach out to Akash Kumar (+91 85957 61795, akash.kumar@cii.in) or Namita Bahl (+91 88002 88224). Registration is available online via this link.

As India continues to champion design as a driver of innovation and competitiveness, the mission to Germany represents a pivotal step in strengthening international collaborations. By learning from Germany’s design-led industrial practices, Indian industries stand to gain valuable insights that could redefine their approach to manufacturing, sustainability, and global market positioning.

With design increasingly at the heart of industrial progress, the India Design Mission to Germany is poised to be a landmark initiative, bridging creative economies and fostering partnerships that will shape the future of innovation.
