OPPO TURNS GROUP SELFIE CHAOS INTO A CELEBRATION OF TOGETHERNESS

OPPO India’s new “Jitna Bada Dil, Utni Badi Selfie” campaign for the OPPO F35 Series uses humour and familiar group moments to explore togetherness. Featuring Bobby Deol and Divyenndu Sharma, three short films capture the playful struggle of fitting everyone into one frame while celebrating friendship, inclusion and shared memories.

A group selfie is rarely as simple as pointing a smartphone camera and pressing the shutter. Someone is always squeezed to the side, another person is trying to get into the frame, while everyone competes for the perfect position. OPPO India turns this familiar social ritual into the central idea of its latest campaign for the OPPO F35 Series, built around the thought, “Jitna Bada Dil, Utni Badi Selfie”.

Featuring actors Bobby Deol and Divyenndu Sharma, the campaign uses three short films to explore the everyday chaos and camaraderie surrounding group selfies. Rather than presenting the selfie merely as a smartphone feature or a technology demonstration, the films place the emphasis on the people behind the picture and the relationships that make the moment worth capturing.

The campaign takes a light-hearted look at the challenge of getting everyone into a single frame, transforming what can often be a mildly frustrating experience into a relatable expression of togetherness. The underlying message is that when there is room for everyone, the resulting photograph becomes more than just an image — it becomes a record of a shared experience.

The presence of Bobby Deol and Divyenndu Sharma adds a familiar entertainment dimension to the campaign, with the actors helping bring its playful situations to life. Their involvement also places the campaign within the broader intersection of popular culture, celebrity storytelling and smartphone-led visual communication.

At its heart, “Jitna Bada Dil, Utni Badi Selfie” shifts attention from the technical act of taking a photograph to the emotional value of being part of it. The three films use recognisable social situations to suggest that a good group selfie is not necessarily about who gets the best position, but about making sure nobody is left out.

For OPPO, the campaign provides an opportunity to position the F35 Series around a distinctly human insight: technology can help capture a moment, but it is the people sharing that moment who give the picture its meaning. In an increasingly image-driven culture, where smartphones have become the primary tools for recording everyday experiences, the campaign connects a product capability with the simple idea of inclusion.

The result is a campaign that treats the group selfie as a small but telling reflection of social life. By making space for everyone in the frame, OPPO’s latest storytelling suggests, there is also an opportunity to make space for everyone in the moment.
