Dairy Day Ice Creams has unveiled a new campaign directed by Rajesh Ramaswamy, produced by Coconut Films and conceptualised by BBDO Mumbai. The film celebrates the charm of simple, relatable ideas, brought to life with warmth and authenticity. The campaign underscores trust, creative freedom and the joy of everyday indulgence.

In an era where advertising often leans towards spectacle and complexity, Dairy Day Ice Creams has chosen to celebrate the beauty of simplicity. Its latest campaign, directed by Rajesh Ramaswamy and produced by Coconut Films, is a refreshing ode to relatable storytelling. Conceived by BBDO Mumbai, the film captures the essence of everyday indulgence, positioning Dairy Day as a brand that resonates with genuine human moments.

Ramaswamy, reflecting on the project, described the idea as “sweet and melty like the ice creams themselves.” He expressed gratitude to the creative team at BBDO, including Souvik Datta and Rohini Bothra, for shaping a concept that feels both familiar and refreshing. “It’s increasingly rare to spot a simple relatable idea, which is also refreshing,” he noted, emphasising the campaign’s departure from over-engineered narratives.

The production brought together a wide array of talent, underscoring the collaborative spirit behind the film. Executive producers Nupur Guha and Tushar Raut, alongside senior producer Mrudangi Jasani Baidya and producer Minoti Ashar, ensured the project’s seamless execution. Associate producer Srishti Dogra and head of production Suraj S Shetty coordinated the intricate details, while cinematographer Anuj Samtani, supported by Devendra Thakkar and Tusar, crafted visuals that balanced intimacy with vibrancy.

The campaign’s aesthetic was further enriched by Jabbar Sheikh’s lighting, Patanga Arts’ production design, and the styling expertise of Vineet Chauhan and Amreen Khan. Food stylist Heena Vara and product stylist Ismail Khan ensured the ice creams themselves were presented with irresistible appeal. The cast, featuring Aarthi Thakkur and Akshara Padwal, brought warmth and relatability to the screen, while Akshantre Shriram’s voice lent authenticity to the portrayal of sibling bonds.

Behind the scenes, the film benefited from meticulous planning and execution. First assistant director Aditya Pawar, supported by Shlok Lalwani and Tanaya Vichare, coordinated the shoot, while Ganesh Majge and Chitranjan Singh managed production logistics. Casting Bay curated the talent, ensuring the film’s characters felt genuine and familiar.

Post-production was equally robust, with Darshan Suhagiya and Balu Pavane overseeing the process. Offline editor Yusuf Khan shaped the narrative flow, while colourist Avinash Shukla and online artist Rajiv Rajagopal refined the final look. The storyboard, crafted by 27lnk, provided a clear creative blueprint that guided the team from concept to completion.

For Dairy Day, the campaign is more than just an advertisement; it is a statement of trust and creative freedom. By allowing the team to explore a simple yet powerful idea, the brand has reinforced its commitment to authenticity. In doing so, it positions itself as a brand that not only sells ice cream but also celebrates the joy of everyday life.

The campaign’s success lies in its ability to connect with audiences through warmth, relatability and a touch of nostalgia. In a crowded marketplace, Dairy Day’s latest film reminds us that sometimes the sweetest stories are the simplest ones.
