Independent creative studio Bear Meets Eagle On Fire has appointed Lea Walker as its first chief executive officer, effective from the new year. After nearly a decade running talent consultancy Mrs Walker, she will join the studio to help steer its next phase alongside founder and chief creative officer Micah Walker.

Independent creative studio Bear Meets Eagle On Fire (BMEOF) has appointed Lea Walker as its first chief executive officer, marking a significant milestone in the agency’s evolution as it prepares for its next phase of growth.

Walker will officially take up the newly created role in the new year, bringing with her three decades of industry experience spanning account management, talent leadership and agency operations. To take on the position, she will close her specialist talent consultancy, Mrs Walker, after nearly 10 years in business.

The appointment strengthens the leadership team at BMEOF, the agency founded seven years ago by chief creative officer Micah Walker as a senior creative partner to a select group of clients. Lea Walker said her experience advising agencies and talent from across the industry had convinced her that committing fully to BMEOF represented the right next step in her career.

Having held senior roles at global agencies including Wieden+Kennedy, Fallon and Leo Burnett before launching Mrs Walker, she has spent recent years with a broad view of how agencies are evolving, particularly as holding companies consolidate and brands continue to invest in stronger in-house capabilities.

“I’ve spent decades learning how this industry works, where it succeeds, where it fails, and what clients and talent need from their partners,” Walker said.

“I fundamentally believe in creativity that solves real business problems, and I don’t think anyone is doing it better. Bear has never had an interest in growing at all costs or being everything to everyone, and that won’t change. In fact, we’re doubling down on it.”

Walker argued that agencies able to maintain a clear point of view and attract the right talent would be best placed to thrive in a changing marketplace.

“As the industry consolidates at the network end and brands build stronger in-house capabilities, the agencies with genuine conviction and the talent to back it will be those that win,” she said. “The right people, in the right environment, doing work they believe in, is the only sustainable competitive advantage.”

For Micah Walker, the search for a chief executive became increasingly straightforward once discussions around the role progressed. He revealed that he had initially asked Lea to help recruit an external candidate before realising the qualities being sought closely mirrored her own experience and outlook.

“The brief we kept writing always seemed to describe the same person,” he said. “There’s no one who understands the changing landscape of our industry and represents creativity and talent the way Lea does. She has seen the inner workings of many companies around the world and understands what makes Bear unique.”

The appointment brings together Lea Walker’s extensive expertise in talent and organisational leadership with BMEOF’s boutique creative model at a time of change for the studio. It also coincides with the agency’s planned move into a new premises, signalling a fresh chapter for the business.

Mrs Walker will continue operating until the end of the year, allowing Walker to complete existing commitments and conclude nearly a decade building the consultancy.

“This gives me some time to wind down some Mrs Walker conversations and to thank my global partners who’ve made the past nine years such a lovely experience,” she said.

Bear Meets Eagle On Fire appoints Lea Walker as inaugural CEO

Media Release, Sydney, 2nd November 2026 – Independent creative studio Bear Meets Eagle On Fire (BMEOF) has appointed Lea Walker as its first chief executive officer, effective in the new year.

Lea has spent almost a decade leading her own talent consultancy, Mrs Walker, which she will close to commence her role as CEO of BMEOF. She brings 30 years of industry experience across account management and talent leadership roles, including time at Wieden+Kennedy, Fallon, and Leo Burnett.

Her husband, Micah Walker, established BMEOF seven years ago to operate as a senior creative partner to a select group of clients. With a bird’s eye view of the industry running her own recruitment firm, Lea became certain that doubling down on BMEOF’s offering was the “right next move”.

“I’ve spent decades learning how this industry works – where it succeeds, where it fails, and what clients and talent need from their partners,” Lea said.

“I fundamentally believe in creativity that solves real business problems, and I don’t think anyone is doing it better. Bear has never had an interest in growing at all costs or being everything to everyone, and that won’t change – in fact, we’re doubling down on it.

“As the industry consolidates at the network end and brands build stronger in-house capabilities, the agencies with genuine conviction and the talent to back it will be those that win. The right people, in the right environment, doing work they believe in, is the only sustainable competitive advantage.”

In the newly created role, Lea will work alongside founder and chief creative officer Micah to lead the studio’s next phase. Micah said he had been considering appointing a CEO for some time and originally approached Lea to hire for the role externally.

“The brief we kept writing always seemed to describe the same person,” he said. “There’s no one who understands the changing landscape of our industry and represents creativity and talent the way Lea does. She has seen the inner workings of many companies around the world and understands what makes Bear unique.”

The appointment brings together Lea’s experience advising agencies and talent with BMEOF’s creative offering and coincides with the studio’s upcoming move to a new premise.
