Bench Media has launched Bench Lens, a research and audience intelligence platform designed to help marketers cut through data overload and make clearer strategic decisions. Coinciding with a refreshed brand identity, the offering integrates research, analytics and strategy, reinforcing the agency’s evolution into a full-service partner focused on measurable growth.

Independent full-service media agency Bench Media has unveiled Bench Lens, a new research and audience intelligence offering designed to help marketers navigate the growing challenge of data overload. The launch, announced in Sydney on 17 August, coincides with a refreshed brand identity and marks the agency’s continued evolution beyond its programmatic and digital roots.

Bench Lens aims to transform fragmented customer, category and market information into clearer strategic and media decisions. It combines tailored primary research through custom consumer panels with syndicated audience data, search and market-demand intelligence, competitive advertising analysis and proprietary cross-channel analytics. These inputs are interpreted through Bench Media’s strategic expertise to identify what matters and how it should shape the next client decision.

Unlike fixed research packages, Bench Lens is scoped around the specific commercial question a client needs to answer. Applications range from consumer profiling and competitor analysis to concept testing, brand perception studies and campaign evaluation. CEO Ori Gold said the proliferation of platforms, dashboards and signals had not necessarily made decision-making easier. “Marketers have access to an extraordinary amount of data, but more data doesn’t automatically mean better decisions,” he noted. “The challenge has shifted from finding information to working out which information matters.”

Strategy Lead Andrea Samuel, who will oversee the new offering, emphasised that research must drive action. “Research is only valuable if it changes what you do next,” she said. “Bench Lens goes beyond presenting findings. We interpret what the research means for the brand, the audience and the media strategy, giving marketing teams a practical path forward.”

Bench Lens can operate as a standalone engagement or integrate directly into Bench Media’s planning and measurement work, with results populating a live dashboard within 48 hours for suitable projects. It will sit alongside Bench Connect, the agency’s proprietary analytics platform, linking research and intelligence with execution and measurement.

The launch coincides with a refreshed brand identity under the positioning “Turning possibility into breakthrough”, reflecting Bench’s broader remit across strategy, research, integrated planning, buying, measurement and technology. Gold said the rebrand was necessary to reflect the agency’s transformation. “Bench has changed considerably over the past few years. Our brand was still telling the story of where we came from rather than where the business is today,” he explained. “This is much more than putting a new identity around the same agency. We’ve been deliberately building deeper strategic, research and measurement capability because the problems clients are asking us to solve are becoming more complex.”

Recent client wins including Hisense, Prospa and Bikes Online, alongside senior appointments such as Jess Torstensson as Client Growth Director and Samuel as Strategy Lead, underline Bench’s momentum. Gold added that the opportunity for independents lies not in replicating holding company models but in being agile enough to assemble the right expertise and technology around client challenges. Bench Lens, he said, represents the next phase of that growth.
