Fin Design + Effects Asia has appointed Fabian Sommer as Business Development / Executive Producer for Southeast Asia, marking a strategic move to strengthen its regional presence. Sommer will spearhead commercial growth while advancing the integration of artificial intelligence into Fin’s artist-led VFX pipeline, ensuring technology enhances rather than replaces craft.

Sommer brings extensive experience in premium advertising and moving-image production, having held senior roles at Hogarth and Ogilvy. His expertise in managing international accounts and complex delivery frameworks positions him to lead Fin’s next phase of growth.

Emma Daines, Founder and Group Managing Director of Fin, described the appointment as pivotal: “Fabian brings strong commercial insight across Southeast Asia and a clear vision for how emerging technology can elevate, not replace, the work of exceptional artists. With him on board, we are ensuring that Fin’s boutique quality remains our signature as we expand.”

Sommer emphasised the studio’s commitment to artistry: “Fin has spent more than two decades building an untarnished reputation as a premium creative benchmark in VFX. The opportunity to champion their artistry across Southeast Asia, while steering an absolute frontier in artist-led AI workflows, is exactly the kind of challenge that drives me.”

The appointment comes as Fin consolidates its independent Asian network, optimising its Shanghai and Singapore offices to serve as agile hubs for premium brand campaigns.
