Swiss chipmaker Kandou AI has inaugurated its India semiconductor-design headquarters in Hyderabad, strengthening its global engineering footprint. The Kondapur facility will focus on chip design, high-speed connectivity and AI infrastructure, leveraging Hyderabad’s talent pool and ecosystem to drive collaboration across global teams and reinforce the city’s role as a semiconductor hub.

Swiss chipmaker Kandou AI has officially opened its India semiconductor-design headquarters in Hyderabad, marking a significant expansion into one of the country’s fastest-growing technology clusters. The new facility, located in Kondapur, will serve as a cornerstone for the company’s engineering operations, focusing on semiconductor design, high-speed connectivity technologies and AI infrastructure.

The Hyderabad centre will host teams working across multiple disciplines, including chip design, verification, firmware, software, systems engineering and customer support. Kandou AI emphasised that the new headquarters is intended not only to strengthen its technical capabilities but also to enhance collaboration across its global engineering teams.

Hyderabad was chosen as the location for this strategic investment due to its strong semiconductor talent pool and rapidly growing ecosystem. The city has emerged as a preferred destination for global technology companies, offering a combination of skilled professionals, advanced infrastructure and a supportive business environment. Kandou AI’s decision reinforces Hyderabad’s reputation as a hub for semiconductor innovation and design.

By establishing this headquarters, Kandou AI aims to accelerate the development of next-generation semiconductor solutions that underpin high-speed connectivity and AI-driven applications. The company believes that the integration of diverse engineering functions within the Hyderabad facility will enable faster innovation cycles and more efficient delivery of solutions to global customers.

The move also highlights India’s increasing importance in the global semiconductor landscape. With Hyderabad at the forefront of this growth, Kandou AI’s investment adds momentum to the city’s ambition of becoming a leading centre for advanced chip design and AI infrastructure.

As Kandou AI deepens its presence in India, the new headquarters is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future innovations while contributing to the broader semiconductor ecosystem in the region.
