Mohanlal has released Thaliromale, the first song from Thudakkam, sung by K. S. Chithra with music by Jakes Bejoy. Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the film marks Vismaya Mohanlal’s acting debut. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Thudakkam blends family drama with adventure thrills and is set for release on 7 August 2026.

The Malayalam film industry has been abuzz with anticipation as Mohanlal unveiled Thaliromale, the first song from Thudakkam, a forthcoming adventure thriller directed by Jude Anthany Joseph. The track, composed by Jakes Bejoy and sung by the legendary K. S. Chithra, is a lyrical, emotionally rich piece that has already struck a chord with audiences. Written by Joe Paul, the song’s delicate orchestration and Chithra’s timeless voice provide a glimpse into the film’s emotional landscape, setting the stage for what promises to be a compelling cinematic experience.

Thudakkam, produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, is scheduled for release on 7 August 2026. The film introduces Vismaya Mohanlal, daughter of Mohanlal, in her acting debut, alongside Aashish Joe Antony, son of the producer. This double debut has added an extra layer of intrigue to the project, with fans eager to see how the newcomers fare under Jude Anthany Joseph’s direction. Known for his acclaimed work on 2018, Joseph has built a reputation for blending human drama with large-scale storytelling, and Thudakkam appears poised to continue that tradition.

The cast features an impressive line-up of seasoned performers, including Sai Kumar, Manoj K. Jayan, Ganesh Kumar and Chippy Ranjith, with Mohanlal himself making a guest appearance. The technical crew is equally strong, with cinematography by Jomon T. John and Akhil George, editing by Chaman Chakko, and sound design by Vishnu Govind. Action sequences are choreographed by Yannick Ben and Stunt Silva, while Santhosh Raman leads production design, ensuring the film’s visual and technical polish.

The release of Thaliromale has been met with enthusiastic responses across social media, with audiences praising Vismaya’s natural screen presence and Chithra’s evocative rendition. Many fans have welcomed Vismaya into Malayalam cinema, noting her effortless performance and the understated elegance of the visuals accompanying the song. For Vismaya, this marks a significant artistic milestone. Already recognised as a writer and poet with her collection Grains of Stardust, and having worked as an assistant director on Mohanlal’s Barroz, she now steps into acting with a project that balances star power and narrative depth.

The song’s release has amplified anticipation for Thudakkam, positioning it as one of the most awaited Malayalam films of 2026. With its combination of fresh talent, veteran artistry and a strong production house, the film promises to deliver both emotional resonance and thrilling spectacle. As Thaliromale continues to capture hearts, the stage is set for Thudakkam to make a memorable mark when it arrives in cinemas this August.
