Ogilvy Group Sri Lanka has swept three of the four categories awarded at the Young Lions Sri Lanka Competition 2026, winning in Media, PR and TV. The agency’s teams will now represent Sri Lanka at the global Young Lions Competition in Cannes this June, showcasing the nation’s creative talent internationally.

Ogilvy Group Sri Lanka has delivered a commanding performance at the Young Lions Sri Lanka Competition 2026, held in Colombo, securing victories in three of the four categories awarded. The agency’s teams triumphed in Media, PR and TV, earning the right to represent Sri Lanka at the global Young Lions Competition in Cannes, France, this June.

The wins underline the breadth and strength of talent across the agency. In the Media category, Sachintha Gunawardena and Hasith Dilakshana of Ogilvy Media took top honours. The PR category was won by Azraa Saldin and Nirmala Premachandra of Ogilvy PR, while Afridi Hussain and Maveena Manickam of Phoenix Ogilvy secured the TV category.

Organised by Metal Factor, the Sri Lankan representative of the Cannes Lions programmes, the national competition opened entries across six categories: Media, PR, TV, Print, Design and Cyber (Digital). It invited under-30 talent from communication agencies across the country to deliver sharp, insight-led, real-world solutions under intense time pressure. A national win here is the only pathway to the Young Lions global stage in Cannes.

This year, only four categories saw winners, with Design and Cyber (Digital) not awarded, reflecting the stringent judging standards of the programme. The three winning Ogilvy teams will now compete at the Young Lions Competition in Cannes, widely regarded as one of the most demanding and respected global platforms for emerging industry talent. The competition will run alongside the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026.

At the international edition, Young Lions teams from across the world will face a 24-hour live brief, expected to present a fully formed communication campaign to an eminent jury of senior creative and industry leaders. For Ogilvy Group Sri Lanka, this marks a proud moment, with three national wins reflecting the drive and passion of its young teams and the agency’s commitment to nurturing talent.

As Ogilvy’s Young Lions prepare to take the Cannes stage this June, they do so backed by the full force of the agency’s 270-strong Creative, PR, Media and Digital teams. They will represent both the agency and the country, carrying the conviction that Sri Lankan talent is ready to compete with the world’s best.

The achievement not only highlights Ogilvy Group Sri Lanka’s dominance in the local competition but also signals the growing confidence of Sri Lankan creativity on the global stage. For the young winners, the journey ahead promises both challenge and opportunity, as they step into one of the most competitive arenas in the world of communications.
