Google has opened applications for its 2026 Creative Fellowship, a six-month paid programme designed for emerging creatives across disciplines such as design, filmmaking and storytelling. Fellows will work on global campaigns with Google teams, receive mentorship from industry leaders and build professional portfolios before the 23 March application deadline.

Applications have opened for the 2026 edition of the Google Creative Fellowship, a six-month paid programme aimed at nurturing emerging creative talent across disciplines including design, filmmaking, storytelling and creative technology.

The fellowship, scheduled to run from June to December 2026, offers selected participants an opportunity to collaborate with teams across Google’s internal creative ecosystem, including the Brand Studio, Creative Lab and YouTube Creative Studio. Fellows will work on live global campaigns while developing their creative portfolios under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Designed as a launchpad for early-career creatives, the programme focuses on practical industry exposure combined with mentorship and professional development. Participants will contribute to real projects and creative briefs while gaining insight into how large-scale digital campaigns are conceptualised, produced and distributed.

The fellowship is fully paid and is intended to support creatives at the early stages of their careers who are looking to expand their skills and gain experience within an international creative environment. The programme also aims to foster collaboration among participants from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, reflecting the increasingly multidisciplinary nature of modern creative industries.

During the six-month period, fellows will have access to mentorship from leading creatives and industry experts within Google’s global network. This guidance is designed to help participants refine their creative thinking, strengthen their storytelling capabilities and navigate professional pathways in fields ranging from design and filmmaking to emerging creative technologies.

Another key aspect of the programme is portfolio development. Fellows will have the opportunity to build a high-impact body of work through contributions to real campaigns, helping them demonstrate both conceptual thinking and practical execution. The experience is also expected to help participants develop a broader professional network by connecting them with creative professionals across Google’s global operations.

The programme reflects the technology company’s broader efforts to engage with and support creative communities worldwide. By integrating emerging talent into its internal creative teams, the fellowship aims to provide participants with exposure to the scale and complexity of global brand storytelling.

Applicants are encouraged to focus on the strength of their creative portfolios rather than traditional résumés. According to programme guidance, bold ideas, storytelling ability and creative problem-solving are key considerations during the selection process. Personal and experimental projects are also viewed as valuable demonstrations of creative thinking.

Applications for the Google Creative Fellowship 2026 will remain open until 23 March 2026, with the deadline set for 5 PM PST. Successful candidates will begin the programme in June, joining a cohort of emerging creatives selected from around the world.
