Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru has been ranked the Best Airport at Arrivals Globally at the 2025 ASQ Awards by Airports Council International, its fourth consecutive win. Based on real-time passenger feedback, the recognition reflects improvements in arrivals processing, passenger comfort, and operational efficiency, cementing Bengaluru’s status as a premier gateway to India.
Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (KIA) has once again secured its place among the world’s finest, being ranked the Best Airport at Arrivals Globally at the 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. This marks the fourth consecutive year the airport has received the honour, underscoring its consistent focus on passenger experience and operational excellence.
The ASQ Awards, presented by Airports Council International (ACI), are widely regarded as the leading benchmark for airport customer service worldwide. The recognition is based on real-time passenger feedback collected through standardised in-journey surveys, ensuring that the award reflects genuine traveller sentiment rather than industry metrics alone.
Officials at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), which operates KIA, emphasised that the accolade reflects sustained efforts to streamline arrivals across both Terminal 1 and the newer Terminal 2. Improvements have been made in processing times, passenger flow, and coordination between airport authorities, immigration, airlines, and ground handlers. Girish Nair, Chief Operating Officer of BIAL, noted: “For us, every arrival is a moment of responsibility. Travellers value predictability, speed and comfort, and we design our operations to deliver exactly that.”
Passenger satisfaction scores have shown measurable gains. The airport’s overall customer rating rose from 4.98 in 2024 to a perfect 5.00 in 2025. Specific service parameters also improved significantly: Wi-Fi services saw the largest jump, from 4.46 to 4.94, while ratings for baggage carousel information, trolley availability, and waiting area comfort all approached near-perfect scores. Operational touchpoints such as walking distances, baggage reclaim times, deboarding, and immigration clearance also recorded improvements, reflecting a smoother end-to-end journey for travellers.
The achievement reinforces Bengaluru’s ambition to position itself as a premier gateway to India. With its modern infrastructure, expanding international connectivity, and emphasis on passenger comfort, KIA continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the country’s most efficient and welcoming airports. For both domestic and international travellers, the airport’s consistent recognition highlights its role in shaping India’s aviation narrative on the global stage.
