Allied Blenders and Distillers has appointed Dr Pradipta Basu as Chief Marketing Officer, reshaping its leadership structure. While Arvind Mohta and Uday Rao continue as Marketing Directors, they will no longer be classified as senior management. Basu brings over 25 years of FMCG and beverages marketing experience to the role.

Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited has announced a significant restructuring of its marketing leadership, appointing Dr Pradipta Basu as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). The move reflects the company’s intent to strengthen its brand strategy and marketing capabilities in a competitive beverages market.

As part of the reshuffle, the company confirmed that Arvind Mohta and Uday Rao, who were appointed as Marketing Directors between May 2025 and March 2026, will continue in their roles but will no longer be classified as senior management personnel. The decision marks a recalibration of responsibilities within the marketing function, with Basu now taking charge of overall leadership.

Dr Basu brings more than 25 years of experience in FMCG and beverages marketing, having worked with leading companies such as Radico Khaitan, United Spirits, ITC, Godfrey Phillips India, Alcobrew Distilleries, and HJ Heinz. His career has spanned national brand management, premium portfolio development, and integrated marketing campaigns across diverse liquor categories.

Most recently, Basu served as Vice President – Marketing & Business Development at Radico Khaitan, where he was responsible for national marketing strategy, portfolio management, and P&L ownership. His tenure included driving innovation, brand growth, and category expansion, reinforcing his reputation as a seasoned marketer with a strong grasp of consumer trends and competitive positioning.

Over the years, Basu has successfully managed large-scale ATL and BTL campaigns, overseen product launches, devised pricing strategies, and built agency partnerships to deliver impactful brand narratives. His expertise in blending creativity with commercial acumen is expected to play a pivotal role in Allied Blenders and Distillers’ next phase of growth.

Academically, Basu holds a management degree from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, an MBA in Marketing and HR, and a bachelor’s degree in hotel management. He further pursued a PhD in Management from École Supérieure Robert de Sorbonne, France, underscoring his commitment to academic rigour alongside professional achievement.

With this appointment, Allied Blenders and Distillers signals a renewed focus on marketing leadership, aiming to sharpen its brand presence and strengthen its position in India’s dynamic beverages industry. The restructuring reflects both continuity and change, balancing the contributions of existing directors with the fresh perspective of a new CMO.
