Publicis Groupe India has named Arup Barua as Associate Director of Content Marketing, marking a significant addition to its leadership team. With extensive experience across GroupM India, Cheil India and Eleve Media, Barua will drive scale-led, localised content strategies, creator partnerships and multi-platform storytelling to strengthen the agency’s brand impact.

Publicis Groupe India has announced the appointment of Arup Barua as Associate Director of Content Marketing, a move that underscores the agency’s focus on strengthening its content-led capabilities in a rapidly evolving communications landscape. Barua confirmed the transition through a LinkedIn post, describing the role as an exciting new chapter in his career.

In his new capacity, Barua will lead Publicis Groupe India’s content marketing initiatives, with a mandate to build scale-driven and locally relevant strategies. His expertise lies in native content architecture, creator partnerships and multi-platform brand storytelling—skills that are increasingly critical as brands seek to engage audiences through authentic, contextual and culturally attuned narratives.

Barua’s appointment reflects Publicis Groupe India’s commitment to expanding its influence in the content marketing space, where the demand for integrated storytelling continues to grow. By combining creative innovation with data-driven insights, the agency aims to deliver campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences while driving measurable business outcomes for clients.

Prior to joining Publicis Groupe India, Barua held senior roles across GroupM India, Cheil India and Eleve Media, where he honed his expertise in content strategy, influencer marketing, digital communications and brand storytelling. His portfolio spans work with leading clients across sectors, giving him a broad perspective on how brands can leverage content to build equity and relevance.

At GroupM India, Barua contributed to campaigns that integrated influencer partnerships with digital-first storytelling, while at Cheil India he worked on projects that blended brand communications with experiential activations. His tenure at Eleve Media further deepened his understanding of creator ecosystems and the role of content in shaping consumer perceptions.

Industry observers note that Barua’s appointment comes at a time when agencies are increasingly investing in content marketing as a core discipline, rather than a peripheral service. With audiences consuming content across multiple platforms—from social media to streaming services—the ability to craft cohesive narratives that cut across channels has become essential.

Publicis Groupe India’s decision to bring Barua on board signals its intent to strengthen its positioning as a partner for brands seeking to navigate this complex environment. His blend of strategic insight and hands-on experience in content creation and distribution is expected to add momentum to the agency’s efforts in delivering impactful campaigns.

As Associate Director of Content Marketing, Barua will report into the leadership team at Publicis Groupe India and collaborate closely with creative, digital and media specialists to ensure content strategies are seamlessly integrated into broader brand plans. His role will also involve fostering partnerships with creators and influencers, reinforcing the agency’s ability to connect brands with communities in meaningful ways.

With this appointment, Publicis Groupe India continues to build a leadership team equipped to address the changing dynamics of marketing and communications. For Barua, the move represents both a return to the heart of agency life and an opportunity to shape the future of content marketing in India’s vibrant advertising ecosystem.
