ASICS SportStyle has partnered with Australian sneaker boutique Finesse to release a limited-edition GEL-CUMULUS 16 in India. Inspired by Sturt’s Desert Rose, the design blends sand-toned uppers with petal hues, symbolising resilience and delicacy. Available via ASICS India and select retailers, the sneaker retails at Rs 14,999.
ASICS SportStyle has unveiled a new collaboration with Australian sneaker boutique Finesse, introducing a limited-edition version of the GEL-CUMULUS 16 in India. The release draws inspiration from Sturt’s Desert Rose, a native Australian flower celebrated for its resilience and ability to thrive in harsh desert conditions, translating its natural symbolism into sneaker design.
Founded in Melbourne, Finesse has built its identity around championing women’s sneaker culture, creating greater visibility for female voices within the community both in Australia and globally. This partnership with ASICS brings together the Japanese brand’s deep footwear heritage and Finesse’s focus on inclusivity, resulting in a design that balances performance with storytelling.
The Desert Rose edition of the GEL-CUMULUS 16 reimagines the silhouette through a nature-led aesthetic. Sand-toned uppers are paired with petal-inspired shades, evoking the textures and colours of Australia’s desert landscapes. The sneaker retains signature elements of the GEL-CUMULUS line, including open mesh underlays and GEL technology cushioning, ensuring that comfort and support remain central to the design.
According to the brands, the collaboration explores the interplay between strength and delicacy, reflecting both the resilience of the desert rose and the elegance of its bloom. This duality is expressed through the sneaker’s design language, which merges lifestyle-focused styling with the technical features of running footwear.
The limited-edition GEL-CUMULUS 16 in the Desert Rose colourway is now available through the official ASICS India website and select retailers, including Limited Edt and Superkicks, at a retail price of Rs 14,999. Positioned as both a collectible and a performance-inspired model, the release underscores ASICS’ ability to fuse heritage with contemporary cultural narratives, while highlighting Finesse’s mission to elevate women’s presence in sneaker culture.
