Bloomingdale Public Relations has named Parikshit Sharma as Regional Director for Southeast Asia, strengthening its Singapore leadership hub. With over two decades of experience across marketing, brand activation and consumer engagement, Sharma will drive Bloomingdale’s regional growth, deepen its Singapore client base and spearhead the India-Singapore corridor strategy.
Bloomingdale Public Relations Pte. Ltd. has appointed Parikshit Sharma as Regional Director – Southeast Asia, a move that underscores the firm’s ambition to expand its regional footprint and reinforce Singapore as its strategic hub. Sharma will lead the Singapore headquarters, driving growth across Southeast Asia and building Bloomingdale’s India-Singapore corridor strategy.
The appointment reflects Bloomingdale’s deliberate decision to look beyond traditional public relations backgrounds, recognising that communications today demand a broader grasp of business, culture, consumer behaviour and brand building. Sharma brings more than 20 years of experience across marketing, brand activation, experiential strategy and consumer engagement, with a career spanning Asia, Africa and Australia. He has held senior roles at DDB Mudra, Ogilvy Action, Wunderman Thompson and Havas Media Group, and since 2018 has been based in Singapore, advising ASEAN and Australian brands on retail, activation and digital engagement, including relaunch projects for Intel and Nokia.
In his new role, Sharma will focus on strengthening Bloomingdale’s Singapore client base, deepening capabilities across Southeast Asian markets and supporting brands expanding from India into the region, as well as international businesses seeking to enter or grow in India. Diana Fernandes, Founder & Group CEO of Bloomingdale, said Singapore was always seen as a vantage point into Southeast Asia: “We wanted leadership on the ground that could think beyond Singapore and help us build the region as a connected communications market. Communications has changed dramatically. It now sits at the intersection of business, culture, technology, consumer behaviour and reputation. Parikshit brings that wider lens.”
Sharma himself emphasised the evolving nature of PR: “It is no longer just about media coverage. It is about understanding the business, the consumer, the culture and the reputation of a brand, and bringing those perspectives together. Southeast Asia is not one market; each country has its own media landscape, consumer behaviour, business culture and regulatory environment. I see an opportunity to build a regional practice that understands those differences while helping brands navigate them with a broader perspective.”
His track record includes leading a festival shopper campaign for Tata retail brands at Wunderman Thompson, rural activation for Hindustan Unilever at Ogilvy Action that reached more than four million households, and award-winning shopper marketing work at DDB Mudra. Bloomingdale’s Southeast Asia practice currently advises more than 40 brands across twelve sectors, including listed companies. Sharma’s appointment is part of the firm’s wider plan to strengthen international leadership and position Singapore as a strategic hub for its Southeast Asia operations.
