Kinnect, part of Omnicom Advertising India, has unveiled a new campaign for Lenovo’s Idea Tab Pro Gen 2, built on the brand’s “Damn the Odds” platform. Featuring actor Abhay Varma in a Broadway-inspired musical narrative, the campaign highlights how tablets can help users stay productive, prepared and opportunity-ready.
Lenovo has rolled out a new campaign for its Idea Tab Pro Gen 2, with creative agency Kinnect aiming to strengthen the technology giant’s presence in the increasingly competitive tablet market through a distinctive blend of storytelling, music and everyday relatability.
Developed under Lenovo’s broader “Damn the Odds” platform, the campaign is centred on a simple but timely insight: opportunities rarely arrive when conditions are perfect. Instead, success often depends on being prepared to respond when the moment presents itself. Through this lens, the campaign positions Lenovo tablets as practical companions that help users stay organised, productive and ready to seize emerging opportunities.
At the heart of the campaign is a film featuring actor Abhay Varma, who guides viewers through a fast-moving day-in-the-life narrative. From professional commitments and educational pursuits to personal ambitions, the film captures the multiple roles people juggle in modern life. The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 remains a constant presence throughout, helping the protagonist navigate shifting priorities and demands.
What sets the campaign apart is its Broadway-inspired creative treatment. Rather than following the conventions of traditional technology advertising, the film uses theatrical transitions, choreographed movement and music-driven storytelling to create a dynamic portrayal of contemporary life. The musical approach is designed to reflect the pace and unpredictability of daily routines while providing a memorable backdrop for the product’s capabilities.
The campaign also marks an important chapter in the relationship between Lenovo and Kinnect. The agency handled the campaign from end to end, overseeing strategy, creative development, talent management, production, offline activations and the broader integrated rollout. Having already launched across retail touchpoints, the campaign is set to expand to television, extending its reach to a wider consumer audience.
According to Chandni Shah, CEO of Kinnect and 22feet, the objective was not only to differentiate Lenovo within the tablet category but also to build stronger brand distinctiveness as competition intensifies. She said the team sought to move beyond conventional technology communication and create a fresh expression of the brand that would resonate with a new generation of consumers.
Shah noted that combining the theatrical energy of a Broadway-style musical with Abhay Varma’s appeal helped establish a distinctive creative language while ensuring that the product remained central to the story. She also described the initiative as a significant milestone for Kinnect, as it represents the agency’s first integrated mainline campaign for Lenovo and showcases the broader scope of collaboration now possible between the two organisations.
The campaign ultimately brings Lenovo’s longstanding “Damn the Odds” philosophy into everyday scenarios, encouraging consumers to pursue ambitions despite challenges and uncertainty. By focusing on preparedness rather than perfection, the company hopes to connect with professionals, students and hybrid workers alike.
Supporting that message is the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 itself, which is positioned as a productivity-focused device. The tablet features hybrid AI capabilities, Smart Reader functionality, keyboard and stylus support, and long battery life, offering users tools designed to help them stay ready for whatever opportunities may come next.
