GALO: A BOLD NEW CHAPTER IN SINGAPORE’S CREATIVE AND SPORTS MARKETING SCENE

Rob Gaxiola, former Ogilvy Singapore executive creative director, and Fernando Loureiro, ex-Ampverse senior leader, have launched GALO, a Singapore-based creative and sports marketing agency. With a lean, senior-led model, the agency spans creative, sports, events and AI-enabled video production, promising agility and innovation in a competitive market.

In the restless churn of Singapore’s marketing industry, where agencies often sprawl into vast structures of hierarchy and process, two seasoned leaders are betting on something altogether leaner. Rob Gaxiola, once the executive creative director at Ogilvy Singapore, and Fernando Loureiro, who held senior leadership roles at Ampverse, have unveiled GALO, a creative and sports marketing agency that seeks to cut through the clutter with agility and senior-level expertise.

The agency’s remit is deliberately broad yet sharply focused: creative services, sports marketing, events and AI-enabled video production. It is a portfolio designed to meet the demands of a marketplace where audiences are fragmented, brands are under pressure to resonate culturally, and technology is reshaping the way stories are told. By positioning GALO as a senior-led alternative to traditional structures, Gaxiola and Loureiro are signalling a desire to deliver work that is both strategically incisive and creatively daring, without the drag of bureaucracy.

Gaxiola, stepping into the role of director of innovation, brings with him a reputation for bold ideas that marry creativity with business outcomes. His career has been marked by campaigns that push boundaries while remaining commercially astute, and at GALO he is expected to drive the agency’s innovation agenda, particularly in the realm of AI-enabled video production. Loureiro, meanwhile, takes on the mantle of managing partner for sports, a role that reflects his deep experience in building partnerships and driving growth in esports and sports marketing. His focus will be on expanding GALO’s footprint in the sporting arena, tapping into the rising demand for integrated campaigns that connect fans, athletes and brands.

The timing of GALO’s launch is significant. Sport is increasingly seen as a cultural touchstone, a space where brands can engage audiences with authenticity and passion. At the same time, creative storytelling is being reshaped by technology, with AI offering new possibilities for scale, speed and personalisation. GALO’s founders believe their model—lean, senior-led, and technologically attuned—offers a timely solution for brands navigating this shifting terrain.

For Singapore, the arrival of GALO adds fresh energy to a market already brimming with competition. Yet the agency’s promise lies in its ability to combine the gravitas of senior leadership with the nimbleness of a start-up. It is a proposition that may well appeal to brands seeking partners who can deliver impact without compromise.

With Gaxiola and Loureiro at the helm, GALO is more than just another agency launch. It is a statement of intent: that creativity and sport, fused with innovation, can deliver powerful business outcomes in a world where audiences demand both resonance and relevance.
