iThrive has appointed Saloni Kulkarni, former head of Client Services, to its Board of Directors, making the company’s leadership 100% women-led. Her journey from Functional Nutritionist to Board Director reflects iThrive’s mission to empower women in strategic roles and signals new possibilities for career growth in nutrition and wellness.
iThrive, the functional medicine company, has announced the appointment of Saloni Kulkarni to its Board of Directors, a move that underscores its commitment to placing women at the forefront of leadership and strategic management. Kulkarni, who began her journey with iThrive in June 2021 as a Functional Nutritionist, has steadily risen through the ranks, most recently serving as head of Client Services. Her elevation to the Board is both a personal milestone and a significant step in advancing women’s representation in high-level decision-making within the nutrition and wellness sector.
Kulkarni holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from SNDT Women’s University and a Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics from Symbiosis International University. Her career trajectory at iThrive has been marked by a transition from working directly with clients to overseeing client services, and now to shaping the company’s strategic direction. Reflecting on her appointment, she said, “My experience at iThrive has been a process of learning, undertaking different responsibilities, and developing myself. My career as a Functional Nutritionist started here, and I have a passion for helping people improve their health with the use of food and lifestyle. It is both a big honour and huge responsibility for me to join the Board. I want to show that women in nutrition can build a successful career – from gaining practical skills to achieving leadership positions.”
For iThrive’s Founder and CEO, Mugdha Pradhan, Kulkarni’s rise is emblematic of the company’s ethos. “Saloni’s career trajectory shows what a woman can achieve when she is given a chance to unfold her potential as a leader and business innovator. Traditionally, corporate leadership roles in nutrition were reserved for those with MBAs, often men from business schools. Saloni, however, has proven that deep expertise in functional nutrition, combined with aptitude for governance, can equally drive growth and innovation. Her journey sends a powerful signal to the world of nutrition: this field also allows you to climb the corporate ladder if you are good at it.”
Pradhan further highlighted the significance of iThrive’s Board now being entirely women-led, calling it a milestone achievement that reflects the organisation’s vision of equity and empowerment. The company hopes this example will inspire more women to pursue leadership positions in the nutrition and wellness industry.
Kulkarni will continue to contribute to iThrive’s strategic direction, focusing on strengthening its functional nutrition practice, advancing the role of nutrition professionals, and supporting the organisation’s growth in the evolving wellness ecosystem.
