The David Pieris Group will launch its Social Empowerment Drive in Batticaloa from 15 to 19 July 2026, featuring a five-day trade fair, entrepreneurship programmes, road safety initiatives, sports tournaments, and technical training. The initiative underscores the Group’s commitment to inclusive community development and long-term social progress in Sri Lanka.

Reinforcing its longstanding commitment to community development and inclusive progress, the David Pieris Group is set to launch its Social Empowerment Drive – Batticaloa, a comprehensive five-day outreach initiative from 15 to 19 July 2026. Centred at the David Pieris Motor Company (DPMC) land on Trincomalee Road, with activities across the city, the programme is designed to empower communities through entrepreneurship, vocational skills, road safety awareness, and youth engagement.

A highlight of the initiative will be the five-day Trade Fair at the DPMC land, showcasing products, services, live demonstrations, and interactive experiences from several Group companies, including David Pieris Motor Company, Assetline Finance, David Pieris Automobiles, David Pieris e-Mobility, David Pieris Solar Energy, David Pieris Logistics, Assetline Insurance Brokers, David Pieris Leisure, and David Pieris Aviation. Visitors will also benefit from exclusive promotional offers, making the fair a focal point for both business and community interaction.

Complementing the trade fair, a Beauty and Personal Care Skills Development Programme for women will be conducted on 15 July, equipping participants with practical knowledge to encourage self-employment opportunities. On the same day, the East Lagoon Hotel will host an Entrepreneurship Development Programme, offering guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to strengthen and expand their ventures.

Road safety will be a central theme, with a Traffic Awareness Programme for students scheduled on 16 July in front of the DPMC land. On 18 July, celebrated as Bajaj Day, two specialised programmes will be held: a Traffic Awareness Programme for three-wheeler drivers to promote safer commuting practices, and a Local Garage Training Programme to provide technical expertise to independent garage owners and technicians, enhancing service standards and professional skills.

The final day, 19 July, will feature a Cricket Tournament at the Sivananda School Ground, Kallady, and a football tournament at the KV Ground, Valachchenai, fostering sportsmanship and teamwork. Simultaneously, a Mechanical Training Programme for DPMC Service Dealers will be conducted to strengthen technical competencies within the company’s service network.

Additional initiatives during the drive include school development programmes, university internship empowerment, scholarships for selected students, vehicle emission testing and inspection for Bajaj and KTM vehicles, and a Green Climate Action Programme. Together, these activities reflect the Group’s vision of creating sustainable value beyond business by investing in people, skills, and communities.

Through meaningful partnerships and impactful initiatives, the David Pieris Group continues to contribute to Sri Lanka’s long-term social and economic development. By embedding empowerment within communities, the Group seeks not only to improve quality of life but also to create opportunities that drive inclusive growth across the country.
