When Brad Pitt strolls back onto the screen, flanked by his furry, judgemental roommates, it’s not just another celebrity cameo. It’s LOLA Madrid’s latest global campaign for De’Longhi DUO, directed by Spike Jonze, and it encapsulates the agency’s knack for blending humour, humanity and high‑end craft. Hot or Cold, Perfetto is more than a tagline — it’s a statement of intent from a creative house that thrives on ambition.
LOLA’s motto, “Crazy Ambition Makes Serious Things Happen”, has never rung truer than in 2023. The Madrid‑based agency, built from world‑class international talent, turned a year of bold ideas into a cascade of accolades. El Ojo de Iberoamérica crowned them Best Agency in Spain, while the Cannes Lions Creativity Report placed them among the top three creative agencies in the country. These honours weren’t just ceremonial; they reflected a portfolio of work that pushed boundaries and sparked conversations.
At Cannes Lions, LOLA’s campaigns spoke volumes. TETA&TETA’s “Cry for the Law” and Persil’s “Let’s Wash Away the Taboo” won in the Outdoor category, while Magnum’s “Melting Icon” earned Bronze in Industry Craft. Each project carried a cultural weight — whether challenging societal taboos or reimagining iconic branding — and demonstrated the agency’s ability to marry artistry with advocacy. The Europe Effies added three Silver Awards to the tally, recognising LOLA’s prowess in Brand Experience, Food & Beverage, and Social Good.
The creative momentum didn’t stop there. A D&AD Pencil, four awards from The One Show, and a string of international festival wins underscored their global relevance. Meanwhile, leadership recognition came in the form of Tomás Ostiglia, their Executive Creative Director, being named Best Creative Director in Spain at El Ojo de Iberoamérica. It was a personal triumph that mirrored the collective success of the agency.
LOLA’s trajectory is proof that ambition, when channelled through craft and culture, can redefine the creative landscape. Their campaigns are not just advertisements; they are cultural artefacts that challenge, entertain and inspire. As Brad and his canine companions remind us in De’Longhi’s Perfetto world, LOLA’s brand of storytelling is both playful and profound — a balance that keeps them at the forefront of global creativity.
