The surge reflects changing consumer behaviour in urban India, where rising disposable incomes, global exposure and digital awareness are fuelling interest in premium lifestyle products.

Industry observers note that mechanical watches, once considered a niche category, are now gaining traction among younger buyers who value storytelling, craftsmanship and individuality. Unlike mass-produced watches, mechanical timepieces are often assembled with intricate components that reflect centuries-old watchmaking traditions, making them both functional accessories and collector’s items.

Alexander Shorokhoff watches are widely recognised for their artistic flair and unconventional design language. Founded by Russian-born watchmaker Alexander Shorokhov in Germany, the brand blends traditional mechanical engineering with avant-garde aesthetics inspired by art, architecture and cultural motifs.
