Heritage Foods Limited has inaugurated a modern ice cream manufacturing facility at Shamirpet near Hyderabad, boosting its annual production capacity to 24 million litres. The investment underscores the company’s strategic focus on value-added dairy products, aiming to expand its frozen dessert portfolio and strengthen distribution across southern and western India.

Heritage Foods Limited has taken a decisive step in strengthening its presence in India’s fast-growing dairy dessert market with the commissioning of a new ice cream manufacturing facility near Hyderabad. The plant, located at Shamirpet, has an installed capacity of approximately 24 million litres per annum and is equipped with advanced automated processing systems and quality control infrastructure to ensure consistent standards and operational efficiency.

Company officials highlighted that the expansion reflects Heritage Foods’ strategic focus on value-added dairy products, particularly ice cream and frozen desserts, which continue to see strong demand growth in India’s organised dairy sector. The new facility will support the brand’s plans to broaden its ice cream portfolio and meet rising consumer demand for packaged frozen desserts across urban markets.

Currently generating around ₹100 crore in annual revenue from its ice cream business, Heritage Foods aims to significantly scale production and expand distribution across southern and western regions with the commissioning of the Shamirpet plant. Designed with provisions for future expansion, the facility positions the company to increase capacity in line with market growth.

Industry observers note that India’s ice cream market is witnessing steady expansion, driven by rising disposable incomes, urbanisation, and evolving consumption patterns. Organised dairy players are investing in modern infrastructure to capture growth in premium and value-added segments, and Heritage Foods’ new plant is expected to enhance its overall processing capabilities while improving supply chain efficiency.

By investing in advanced manufacturing infrastructure, Heritage Foods seeks to strengthen product innovation, extend distribution reach, and support long-term growth in the competitive dairy dessert category. The Hyderabad facility marks another milestone in the company’s expansion strategy as it diversifies beyond liquid milk into higher-margin dairy products.
