Kotak Mahindra Bank has announced the elevation of Jyoti Samajpati to Executive Vice President – Head Marketing & Propositions (Consumer Bank), marking a significant step in the bank’s brand and customer strategy. In her new role, Samajpati will oversee the Kotak brand, customer experience and go-to-market strategy, reinforcing the bank’s focus on consumer-centric growth.

Samajpati moves into this position from her previous role as Head Propositions, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s offerings and strengthening its value proposition in a competitive market. Her promotion reflects Kotak’s commitment to leveraging seasoned leadership to drive innovation and deepen customer engagement.

With over two decades of experience across leading organisations such as Unilever, Marico and MullenLowe Lintas Group, Samajpati brings a rich blend of expertise in brand management, marketing strategy and consumer insights. At Unilever, she honed her skills in managing global brands and delivering impactful campaigns that resonated with diverse consumer bases. Her tenure at Marico further expanded her capabilities in category leadership and business growth, while her time at MullenLowe Lintas Group added depth in creative strategy and integrated marketing communications.

Her career trajectory underscores a consistent focus on building brands that connect meaningfully with consumers, while driving measurable business outcomes. This background positions her well to lead Kotak Mahindra Bank’s marketing and propositions function at a time when customer expectations are rapidly evolving and digital transformation is reshaping the banking landscape.

Samajpati’s appointment is expected to strengthen Kotak’s ability to deliver differentiated experiences and sharpen its competitive edge in the consumer banking sector. By aligning brand strategy with customer needs and market dynamics, she will play a central role in enhancing Kotak’s visibility and relevance in an increasingly crowded financial services market.

Industry observers note that her elevation comes at a crucial juncture, as banks intensify efforts to balance innovation with trust and customer loyalty. Samajpati’s blend of corporate and agency experience is likely to bring fresh perspectives to Kotak’s marketing approach, ensuring that the bank continues to resonate with both existing and new customers.

Her leadership will be instrumental in shaping Kotak’s next phase of growth, as the bank seeks to consolidate its position as a trusted and forward-looking brand in India’s consumer banking space.
