Actor and entrepreneur Malaika Arora has launched Maejoy, a lifestyle accessories brand developed with Myntra and Exceed Entertainment. Debuting with over 250 styles across handbags and lab-grown diamond jewellery, the label reflects India’s growing celebrity-led D2C movement and the rising consumer appetite for accessible luxury and sustainable materials.
Actor and entrepreneur Malaika Arora has unveiled Maejoy, a new lifestyle accessories label created in collaboration with fashion e-commerce platform Myntra and talent management firm Exceed Entertainment, marking the celebrity’s latest move into India’s fast-expanding direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand landscape.
The brand launches with a portfolio of more than 250 styles spanning handbags and lab-grown diamond jewellery, positioning itself within the premium yet accessible segment of the accessories market. Maejoy’s debut reflects a broader shift in India’s retail ecosystem, where celebrity founders are increasingly transforming personal brand identity and lifestyle narratives into design-led consumer businesses.
Developed in partnership with Myntra Jabong India Private Limited, the wholesale arm of Myntra, the label represents a strategic collaboration that combines Arora’s influence in fashion and popular culture with the scale, logistics and digital reach of one of India’s largest online fashion marketplaces. The partnership highlights how established e-commerce platforms are becoming key enablers for emerging D2C brands seeking rapid visibility and nationwide distribution.
At launch, Maejoy introduces a wide-ranging handbag collection that reflects evolving style preferences among modern consumers. The assortment includes crossbody bags, structured shoulder bags, bucket bags, totes, backpacks and clutches, alongside workwear-inspired designs aimed at everyday versatility. The collection also experiments with diverse textures and materials, including synthetic leather, raffia, braids, satin, rhinestones and metallic finishes, creating a mix of statement pieces and functional accessories designed to transition easily between casual and formal settings.
Complementing the handbag line is a jewellery offering centred on lab-grown diamonds, an increasingly popular choice within the global luxury and fashion industries due to their ethical and environmental appeal. The Maejoy jewellery collection includes rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets and tennis bracelets, crafted using 925 sterling silver bases available in silver, gold and rose-gold tones. The diamonds featured in the collection are certified by international organisations such as the International Gemological Institute and the Gemological Certification Institute, reflecting a growing emphasis on transparency and sustainability in contemporary jewellery production.
Speaking about the launch, Arora described Maejoy as a personal creative venture rooted in her long association with fashion and self-expression. She noted that the brand was inspired by her belief that fashion should empower individuals while remaining effortless and practical for everyday life. Through Maejoy, she aims to create accessories that allow women to incorporate elements of luxury into their daily wardrobes without compromising comfort or versatility.
Industry executives involved in the collaboration emphasised that the partnership illustrates how celebrity-led brands are evolving beyond endorsement models to become fully developed lifestyle labels. By combining Arora’s distinct style sensibility with Myntra’s experience in brand development, merchandising and digital retail infrastructure, the collaborators believe Maejoy can carve out a distinctive space within India’s accessible luxury accessories category.
The launch also mirrors a wider transformation within India’s D2C market, where celebrity entrepreneurs are increasingly building brands that connect directly with consumers through storytelling, design differentiation and digital-first distribution strategies. Platforms such as Myntra, with their vast customer base and logistics capabilities, are playing a pivotal role in enabling these ventures to reach scale quickly while maintaining a curated brand identity.
With Maejoy’s introduction, Arora joins a growing group of public figures translating personal style into consumer-facing ventures. For Myntra, meanwhile, the collaboration underscores the platform’s ambition to deepen its portfolio of exclusive brands while tapping into the cultural influence and aspirational appeal that celebrity entrepreneurs bring to India’s rapidly evolving fashion ecosystem.
