Samsung Electronics has announced expanded support for its glasses-free 3D gaming technology on the Odyssey 3D monitor. Revealed at the GDC Festival of Gaming 2026 in San Francisco, the update adds two upcoming titles to its ecosystem while showcasing the monitor’s eye-tracking technology, high refresh rate and immersive gameplay capabilities.
Samsung Electronics has unveiled plans to broaden support for glasses-free 3D gaming on its Odyssey 3D gaming monitor, signalling a fresh push to enhance immersive gameplay experiences for PC gamers. The announcement was made during the GDC Festival of Gaming 2026 in San Francisco, one of the industry’s key gatherings for developers and technology companies.
The company confirmed that two new titles—Hell Is Us and Cronos: The New Dawn—will soon join the Odyssey 3D ecosystem. Both games will support the monitor’s signature glasses-free 3D technology and will be accessible through the Samsung Odyssey 3D Hub, which already hosts more than 60 compatible titles.
By adding new releases to the platform, Samsung aims to strengthen the monitor’s appeal among gamers seeking a more immersive visual experience without the inconvenience of dedicated 3D eyewear. The Odyssey 3D Hub acts as a central portal where users can discover, access and manage compatible games designed to take advantage of the monitor’s depth-enhancing technology.
At the core of the Odyssey 3D monitor is an advanced system combining eye-tracking and view-mapping technology. These tools analyse the user’s eye movements in real time and adjust on-screen imagery to create a convincing sense of depth and spatial layering. The result is a stereoscopic 3D effect that appears natural to the viewer while eliminating the need for traditional 3D glasses.
Samsung says the approach allows players to experience environments, characters and action sequences with heightened realism while maintaining comfort during extended gaming sessions. The technology dynamically adapts to the viewer’s perspective, ensuring the 3D effect remains stable and immersive even as the player moves.
Performance specifications further reinforce the monitor’s gaming credentials. The Odyssey 3D features a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time, delivering fluid motion and minimal input lag. These capabilities are particularly important for fast-paced genres such as action-adventure and shooter titles, where responsiveness and visual clarity can significantly affect gameplay.
The addition of Hell Is Us and Cronos: The New Dawn reflects Samsung’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with game developers to optimise titles for its evolving display technologies. As the Odyssey 3D ecosystem grows, the company hopes to position glasses-free 3D gaming as a practical and compelling option for mainstream PC players.
With developers increasingly exploring new ways to enhance immersion, Samsung’s announcement at the GDC Festival of Gaming suggests that the next phase of gaming displays may place as much emphasis on depth perception and spatial realism as on raw graphical performance.
