Yakult Danone India has unveiled a new television commercial featuring Taapsee Pannu to introduce the refreshed Yakult Light Mango Flavour. Developed following consumer feedback, the probiotic drink highlights its enhanced taste, low-calorie profile and scientifically backed formulation, aiming to make gut health more accessible to Indian families.

Yakult Danone India has launched a new campaign to showcase the updated Yakult Light Mango Flavour, with brand ambassador Taapsee Pannu fronting the television commercial. The revised recipe, introduced after consumer feedback, emphasises a richer mango taste while retaining the probiotic formulation that has defined the brand’s identity.

The drink contains 6.5 billion live Lactobacillus paracasei Shirota (LcS) probiotic bacteria, alongside vitamins D and E. It is positioned as a low-calorie, low-sugar option free from artificial flavours, preservatives and colouring. According to the company, more than 80 per cent of consumers in its research preferred the enhanced flavour.

Eiji Amano, managing director of Yakult Danone India, said the launch reflects the brand’s mission to combine scientific excellence with consumer preferences. “We launched Yakult Mango Flavour in 2024 to suit Indian taste preferences. Based on feedback, we have further enhanced its flavour to deliver a richer and more enjoyable taste,” he noted.

Taku Otsuka, director – Sales, PR & Marketing, added that the campaign marks another milestone in making gut health more relatable for Indian consumers. “With Taapsee Pannu’s authentic advocacy for healthy living, the new taste of Yakult Light Mango variant offers a refreshing flavour while reinforcing our commitment to promoting daily probiotic consumption,” he said.

Neerja Hajela, chief science officer – Science & Regulatory Affairs, highlighted the scientific foundation of the product. “Every bottle contains 6.5 billion live LcS probiotic bacteria, backed by decades of research. Through this advertisement, we hope to encourage more consumers to understand that maintaining a healthy gut is a simple yet meaningful step towards better everyday wellness,” she explained.

By refreshing its mango variant and amplifying the campaign through a familiar face, Yakult Danone India aims to strengthen awareness of probiotics and embed gut health into the daily routines of more Indian households.
