A new premium vodka brand, Black Lake Vodka from Netherfield Estate, has been unveiled with a design identity by RBrand Design. Inspired by the owner’s Siberian ancestry and Scotland’s celebrated distilling tradition, the brand blends two cultures to create a distinctive premium vodka positioned around heritage, craftsmanship and authenticity.

A new premium spirits brand is stepping into the spotlight with the launch of Black Lake Vodka, a product of Netherfield Estate whose identity has been crafted by the creative studio RBrand Design.

After months of development behind the scenes, the brand has now been revealed, bringing together a narrative that bridges two distinct cultural traditions: the deep-rooted heritage of vodka distilling in Siberia and the celebrated craft of Scotland’s distillation industry.

The project began with a straightforward brief — to create a brand that reflects the personal history and expertise of the estate’s owner while honouring the craftsmanship associated with Scottish spirits production. The resulting identity positions Black Lake Vodka as a premium offering shaped by heritage, knowledge and a cross-cultural distilling legacy.

Central to the concept is the phrase “Born in Siberia. Crafted in Scotland,” which captures the brand’s origin story and serves as a defining element of its positioning. The reference to Siberia highlights the owner’s ancestry and longstanding familiarity with vodka distillation traditions that have developed over centuries in Eastern Europe and Russia. These influences were paired with Scotland’s globally recognised distilling expertise, a sector more commonly associated with whisky but increasingly influential across other premium spirits categories.

RBrand Design sought to translate this blend of influences into a visual and narrative identity that communicates both authenticity and refinement. The studio worked to emphasise the story behind the brand, building a concept that celebrates heritage while presenting the vodka as a modern premium product.

According to the design team, the project focused on capturing the essence of two cultures united by a shared commitment to craft. By weaving Siberian roots with Scotland’s distilling heritage, the brand aims to stand apart in an increasingly competitive premium vodka market.

For Netherfield Estate, the launch represents more than a new product; it is an expression of personal legacy and artisanal pride. The estate’s approach places strong emphasis on craftsmanship and knowledge, aligning with the broader trend among premium spirits producers to highlight provenance, storytelling and authenticity.

Black Lake Vodka enters a category that has seen growing interest from consumers seeking distinctive and story-driven spirits. While vodka is often perceived as a neutral spirit, premium producers are increasingly emphasising origin, distilling methods and brand narrative to differentiate their offerings.

By grounding its identity in both Siberian tradition and Scottish craft, Black Lake Vodka seeks to occupy a unique space within that evolving landscape — one where heritage and innovation intersect.

With the brand now officially unveiled, the creators behind Black Lake Vodka say they are pleased to finally see the project emerge after months of quiet development. The result is a vodka brand that draws strength from two distilling cultures, presenting a story that is as much about lineage and passion as it is about the spirit itself.
