Reliance Industries has unveiled Vantara University in Jamnagar, led by Executive Director Anant Ambani. Positioned as a global hub for wildlife conservation, veterinary sciences, and scientific research, the institution will nurture talent and advance solutions for animal and human health, translating field expertise into academic programmes and professional training.
Reliance Industries has announced the launch of Vantara University, an ambitious new institution dedicated to wildlife conservation, veterinary sciences, and advanced scientific research. The foundation stone ceremony, held in Jamnagar, was led by Executive Director Anant Ambani, alongside his wife Radhika and father Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries. The event coincided with Anant Ambani’s 31st birthday, underscoring the personal significance of the project.
The university is envisioned as a global centre of excellence, integrating academic rigour with practical conservation experience. Drawing on the expertise of Vantara’s on-ground initiatives, the institution will translate field knowledge into structured academic programmes, professional training, and internationally relevant frameworks. Its mission is to nurture world-class talent capable of advancing solutions for both animal and human health, thereby creating a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Speaking at the ceremony, Anant Ambani emphasised the deeply personal journey that inspired the creation of Vantara University. “The future of conservation will depend on how we prepare minds and institutions to serve life with compassion, knowledge, and skill,” he said. “Vantara University is shaped by witnessing animals in distress and recognising the need for greater capability in their care.” His words highlighted the institution’s commitment not only to scientific excellence but also to compassion and responsibility in addressing the challenges of conservation.
The initiative reflects Reliance Industries’ broader vision of combining innovation with social responsibility. By establishing Vantara University, the company aims to position India as a leader in conservation-focused education and research. The university will serve as a platform for collaboration between scientists, veterinarians, conservationists, and students, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to safeguarding biodiversity and advancing veterinary sciences.
With its foundation stone laid, Vantara University marks the beginning of a new chapter in conservation education. It promises to be more than an academic institution—it is intended as a global hub where knowledge, compassion, and skill converge to address pressing challenges in animal welfare and ecological sustainability. For Reliance Industries and Anant Ambani, the project represents a bold step towards shaping a future where conservation and care are integral to human progress.
