Mars has announced the elevation of Mahmoud Maghraby as Media Director for AMEA, marking a significant expansion of his responsibilities within the global confectionery and pet care giant. Previously serving as Media Director for the Middle East, Africa and Global Emerging Markets, Maghraby’s new role underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its media leadership across Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Maghraby brings with him more than two decades of experience in media strategy and planning, with a career defined by strategic leadership and cross-regional market alignment. His expertise lies in building integrated media frameworks that respond to diverse consumer landscapes, ensuring brand resonance across varied cultural and commercial contexts.

Before joining Mars, Maghraby held senior positions at Essence Mediacom, where he served as Client Managing Director and Head of Strategy for MENA. In this role, he was instrumental in shaping client strategies and driving innovation in media planning across the region. His tenure at Starcom Middle East, which spanned nearly eight years, further cemented his reputation as a trusted strategist capable of navigating complex market dynamics.

The appointment reflects Mars’ ambition to consolidate its media operations across AMEA, a region characterised by rapid digital transformation, evolving consumer behaviours and diverse market challenges. By leveraging Maghraby’s extensive experience, the company aims to enhance its ability to deliver impactful campaigns that resonate across multiple geographies while maintaining consistency in brand messaging.

Maghraby’s career trajectory highlights his ability to balance global frameworks with local insights, a skill increasingly critical in today’s fragmented media environment. His leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in aligning Mars’ media strategies with broader business objectives, ensuring that the company remains agile and competitive in fast-changing markets.

Industry observers note that the move signals Mars’ recognition of the growing importance of integrated media leadership in driving brand growth across emerging and established markets alike. With Maghraby at the helm, the company is well-positioned to strengthen its media footprint and deepen engagement with consumers across AMEA.
