Supratim Dasgupta has been appointed Commercial Head – India Subcontinent at Proximo Spirits. With over a decade at DIAGEO India and leadership roles across telecom, consumer brands, and financial services, he brings deep expertise in premium brand growth, market expansion, and distribution leadership to strengthen Proximo’s regional presence.  

Mumbai: Proximo Spirits has announced the appointment of Supratim Dasgupta as Commercial Head – India Subcontinent, a move that underscores the company’s ambition to expand its footprint in one of the world’s most dynamic spirits markets. Dasgupta brings extensive leadership experience across luxury spirits, telecom, consumer brands, and financial services, positioning him to drive commercial strategy and premium brand growth across the region.  

Prior to joining Proximo Spirits, Dasgupta spent more than a decade with DIAGEO India, where he most recently served as Head of Luxury Commercial – India & South Asia. In this role, he played a pivotal part in expanding DIAGEO’s luxury portfolio and advancing premiumisation strategies across key regional markets including Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. His tenure was marked by a focus on strengthening consumer engagement and building sustainable growth in the luxury spirits segment.  

Dasgupta’s career spans leadership positions at Fino Payments Bank Ltd, United Spirits Limited, Reliance Communication Ltd, and Airtel, where he honed expertise in key account management, trade marketing, commercial operations, and customer engagement. His ability to navigate both mature and emerging consumer markets across South Asia has equipped him with a nuanced understanding of distribution leadership and strategic business growth.  

At Proximo Spirits, Dasgupta is expected to play a central role in shaping commercial strategies that align with the company’s global vision while adapting to the unique dynamics of the India subcontinent. His appointment signals Proximo’s intent to strengthen its presence in the region, leveraging his proven track record in luxury brand building and market expansion.  

Dasgupta’s leadership journey reflects the growing importance of versatile commercial heads who can bridge global aspirations with local market realities.
