7-Eleven and New Balance extend their 45th anniversary collaboration in Hong Kong with a retro tech series launching 3 June. Under the theme “Rewind to FUN”, the drop includes a cassette player, mini camera and foldable sports bag, blending nostalgia with modern lifestyle appeal through blind-box designs and limited-edition scarcity.

Following the success of their mini sneaker puzzles, 7-Eleven and New Balance are back with a second anniversary collaboration that taps into nostalgia and lifestyle relevance. Launching on 3 June, the “Rewind to FUN” series introduces three new collectibles: a retro cassette player, a mini camera, and a foldable sports bag, each designed to evoke memories while serving modern utility.

The retro cassette player, a fixture of Hong Kong life since the 1980s, comes in four blind-box designs. Each unit is pre-loaded with a cassette featuring Rover’s exclusive track “Rare to gather as a family”, alongside wired earphones. The casing blends 7-Eleven and New Balance aesthetics across colourways ranging from understated to playful. Stickers with A/B side labels and personalisation options add to the collectible appeal. Beyond playback, the cassette player doubles as a gift: it can record voice messages, while its FM radio function lets users relive the tactile experience of tuning into live broadcasts.

In contrast, the mini camera embraces imperfection and spontaneity. Compact and wearable, it comes in four blind-box designs with colours from grey-orange to pink and army green. Equipped with photo, video and audio functions, it offers adjustable pixel settings, 25 filters, and motion detection that automatically records when movement is detected. Each blind box includes a clasp or chain, making the camera a portable accessory for everyday life.

Completing the lineup is a foldable sports bag, designed for urban versatility. Made from lightweight polyester, it expands to a generous capacity yet folds neatly into a bow small enough to slip into a pocket. Whether for gym sessions, shopping runs or travel, the bag reflects the collaboration’s blend of practicality and playful design.

Together, the retro tech series reinforces 7-Eleven’s cultural resonance in Hong Kong while extending New Balance’s lifestyle relevance. By merging nostalgia with modern engagement, the collaboration continues to celebrate 45 years of 7-Eleven’s presence in the city, inviting consumers to pause, rewind and rediscover joy in everyday objects.
