Fresh from the Pentawards 2026 gala, the packaging design world is already looking ahead to Paris Packaging Week 2027, where 100 award-winning designs will go on display. French agencies dominated this year’s honours, while innovative projects from across the globe highlighted design’s growing role in sustainability, creativity and brand storytelling.

Barely a week after the Pentawards 2026 gala honoured the world’s most innovative packaging designs, the spotlight is already shifting to Paris, where the industry’s latest achievements will take centre stage at the Pentawards Festival during Paris Packaging Week on 3 and 4 February 2027.

Returning for its third edition at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the festival will showcase 100 outstanding award-winning designs from around the world, giving brands, manufacturers and packaging professionals an opportunity to examine some of the industry’s most celebrated work up close. Alongside the winners’ gallery, visitors can expect expert talks, live artistic performances and networking opportunities that bring together leading voices from across the packaging sector.

France emerged as one of the clear success stories of this year’s Pentawards competition. Paris-based Servaire & Co was named Design Agency of the Year after securing eight trophies from ten shortlisted entries, while GOOD PEOPLE WANDER shared the Best Newcomer title. French brands, designers and manufacturers collected awards across multiple categories, demonstrating the breadth of creative talent within the country’s packaging industry.

Among the standout French winners was Servaire & Co’s Platinum-winning design for Darphin Stimulskin Plus. Inspired by the skin’s cellular matrix, the premium skincare packaging features a sculptural metallic exterior surrounding a refillable glass core made with 30% recycled material. The design also reduces packaging weight by up to 47%, reflecting the growing importance of sustainability alongside luxury presentation.

French excellence was also recognised in the drinks sector. Moët Hennessy Travel Retail secured Gold for Hennessy The Privileged Moment, an exclusive cognac experience built around a handcrafted oakwood Cabinet of Curiosity. GOOD PEOPLE WANDER claimed Gold for its collaboration with the historic playing-card brand Grimaud and Silver for Diageo Rare Series, while AROS GROUP earned Silver and Bronze awards for its Paper Palette cosmetic compact, created from a single paper-based material.

Other French agencies and brands receiving recognition included Dragon Rouge, Lonsdale, DAPY PARIS, Carrefour and Studio Matte, whose projects covered everything from luxury packaging and brand identity to everyday consumer products.

The gala’s highest honour, the Diamond Award, went to an unconventional wine label created by Croatian agency Studio Sonda for Piquentum Brut Nature. The label is produced using sediment recovered from the wine’s own fermentation process, combined with paper waste generated by the winery. Described as a “living label”, the material continues to evolve over time, embodying circular design principles in a highly distinctive way.

Elsewhere, Platinum awards celebrated diverse approaches to packaging innovation. Winners included Heinz Dipper, featuring an integrated compartment for ketchup; Even Realities’ Mono-Kinetic packaging for augmented-reality glasses; and Australian Vintage’s Poco Vino, a colourful and stackable miniature wine format.

The 2027 festival will be held under the theme Let’s Be Real, highlighting both creative experimentation and the practical challenges facing the industry, from sustainability pressures to changing business realities.

Jennifer Clements, Head of Pentawards at Easyfairs UK, said the year’s entries demonstrated how design can transform familiar objects while reflecting a remarkable diversity of global ideas. Noura Moussa, Head of Marketing at Paris Packaging Week, added that the partnership places creativity at the heart of the event, helping inspire innovation and connect the industry’s most influential designers, brands and manufacturers.

With registration now open, Paris Packaging Week 2027 promises to offer a fitting stage for the latest chapter in packaging design’s continuing evolution.
