Online travel platform Cleartrip has appointed Pallavi Saxena as Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer. The former Flipkart senior director will lead marketing, growth planning and insights. Her appointment signals the company’s focus on aligning brand-building with revenue strategy as it strengthens its position in India’s competitive online travel market.

Cleartrip has appointed Pallavi Saxena as its Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer (CMRO), marking a strategic leadership move as the Flipkart-owned online travel platform seeks to accelerate its next phase of growth in India’s increasingly competitive digital travel market.

In her new role, Saxena will oversee the company’s marketing operations alongside growth planning and insights functions, bringing these critical areas under a unified leadership structure. The appointment reflects Cleartrip’s push to create stronger alignment between brand-building initiatives and revenue strategy as the company sharpens its positioning in the online travel ecosystem.

Saxena joins Cleartrip after more than a decade at Flipkart, where she built extensive experience across several major business categories. Most recently, she served as Senior Director, leading the marketing, revenue and customer growth functions for the company’s Lifestyle category. During her tenure, she worked on scaling category growth, strengthening consumer engagement and integrating data-driven strategies with brand development.

Her move to Cleartrip brings a leader familiar with the dynamics of building consumer-facing digital platforms at scale. As the travel sector continues to evolve with increasing competition and changing consumer expectations, the company appears keen to harness Saxena’s experience in driving growth through integrated marketing and revenue strategies.

Commenting on the appointment, Manjari Singhal, Chief Growth and Business Officer at Cleartrip, said Saxena joins the organisation at a crucial moment in its growth journey.

“Having spent over a decade at Flipkart, she deeply understands the ethos of building at scale, moving with speed and staying customer-first, which is core to how we operate,” Singhal said.

Singhal noted that as Cleartrip intensifies its efforts to build a stronger and more distinctive travel brand, closer collaboration between marketing and revenue functions will play a central role in achieving that ambition.

“Pallavi brings the right mix of data-led thinking, brand instinct and execution strength to help us unlock the next phase of growth,” she added.

Saxena said the travel industry is entering a new phase in which customer expectations are becoming more experience-driven, pushing companies to sharpen their storytelling and strengthen brand recall while also improving operational efficiency.

“The travel sector is becoming more experience-led and competitive,” Saxena said. “My priority will be to build an integrated marketing and revenue engine that puts the customer first, improving efficiency to fuel our next leg of growth.”

Founded in July 2006, Cleartrip has grown into one of India’s leading online travel platforms, offering services across flights, hotels and travel experiences. The company entered a new phase of expansion after Flipkart acquired a majority stake in April 2021, bringing the travel platform into one of India’s largest e-commerce ecosystems.

Since the acquisition, Cleartrip has sought to deepen its presence in the digital travel market by leveraging Flipkart’s scale, customer reach and technological capabilities. The strategy has increasingly focused on strengthening brand visibility while enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.

Recent industry research indicates that the approach may be gaining traction. According to a study by VIDEC, Cleartrip has recently emerged as the second-largest online travel agency player in the market, highlighting the platform’s growing influence in the sector.

With travel demand rebounding and digital booking platforms competing aggressively for consumer attention, leadership appointments such as Saxena’s are seen as pivotal in shaping brand differentiation and sustained growth.

By bringing marketing, customer insights and revenue strategy under one leadership role, Cleartrip appears to be positioning itself to move faster in a market where agility, data intelligence and compelling brand narratives are increasingly essential.

Saxena’s appointment signals the company’s intention to deepen its customer-first approach while building a more cohesive growth engine—one designed to navigate the evolving landscape of digital travel and capitalise on rising consumer appetite for travel experiences.
