HISTORYVERSE TO CHRONICLE BHAGAT SINGH’S LIFE IN NEW ORIGINAL SERIES

Collective Studios’ Historyverse, in association with Hathiramani Commercial Ventures and co-produced by entrepreneur Manish Hathiramani, has announced a new original series on Bhagat Singh. The project will explore the lesser-known dimensions of the freedom fighter’s life, tracing his formative influences and evolution into a revolutionary whose legacy continues to inspire.  

Collective Studios’ Historyverse has unveiled plans for a new original series centred on the life of Bhagat Singh, one of India’s most iconic freedom fighters. The project, developed in association with Hathiramani Commercial Ventures and co-produced with investor and entrepreneur Manish Hathiramani, promises to offer a fresh perspective on the revolutionary’s journey.  

Rather than revisiting only the familiar chapters of Bhagat Singh’s life, the series will delve into the person behind the legend. It will explore his childhood, formative experiences, intellectual influences and the social and political environment that shaped his worldview. By tracing the evolution of these ideas through different stages of his life, the narrative aims to illuminate how a young man’s convictions crystallised into the revolutionary figure whose legacy endures across generations.  

For Manish Hathiramani, the project marks his debut as a producer and reflects his personal interest in exploring the lesser-known dimensions of India’s history through entertainment rooted in historical authenticity. “Bhagat Singh is a figure whose life has always fascinated me, but what interests me most is the person before the legend,” he said. “We know the revolutionary, the freedom fighter and the icon; this series gives us an opportunity to understand the many facets of Bhagat Singh’s life and the journey that shaped him.”  

Sudeep Lahiri, Head of Channels and Distribution at Collective Media Network, emphasised the importance of revisiting familiar stories with new perspectives. “There are some figures in our history whose stories we think we know completely. Bhagat Singh is one of them. But behind the icon was a young man whose ideas, influences and experiences shaped the person he would become. That is the story we are interested in exploring. Having Manish come on board as a co-producer makes this collaboration particularly exciting, because we share a strong belief in finding new perspectives within stories that have already been told many times and bringing them to audiences with scale and ambition.”  

Currently in development, the series’ title, cast and further details will be announced at a later date. It joins Historyverse’s expanding slate of Indian history and culturally rooted storytelling, which seeks to revisit significant figures, traditions and narratives through contemporary formats and ambitious new approaches.
