IMAGINING THE UNSEEN: MUHAMMED SAJID LAUNCHES NEWSLETTER TO BRING HIS ARTISTIC WORLD CLOSER TO FANS

Artist Muhammed Sajid has launched a new newsletter aimed at bringing audiences closer to his creative process and upcoming projects. To celebrate, he is offering subscribers a chance to win an artist-signed artwork print. The initiative reflects his belief that art gives form to imagination and creates meaningful connections with audiences.

When Muhammed Sajid speaks about art, he describes it not simply as a profession or a passion, but as a necessity. For him, creativity begins in a place where imagination outruns reality. The images that fill his mind, he explains, are not things that exist in the physical world, and this gap between vision and reality is precisely what compels him to create.

“The things I imagine in my head don’t exist or aren’t real,” Sajid says. “So I’m compelled to create them the way that I see them. As they say, art is freedom.”

That philosophy has shaped his approach to art and to the way he engages with his audience.

Can you elaborate on your journey as an artist?

My journey as an artist began with a deep curiosity about people and the stories around me. Growing up in Kerala, I was always inspired by everyday life, the colours, the culture, and the characters I encountered in my surroundings. I spent a lot of time observing people, their gestures, relationships, and quiet moments, which later became an important part of my visual language.

As my practice developed, digital illustration became my primary medium. It allowed me to experiment with vibrant colour palettes, surreal compositions, and expressive characters while still staying connected to the cultural influences that shaped me.

Alongside creating artworks, I also started sharing my process, thoughts, and visual explorations through my newsletter and online platforms. It became a way to document my journey, connect with audiences, and talk about creativity beyond just the finished artwork.

Where did you study your art?

I studied Applied Art at the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram, where I developed my foundation in drawing, composition, colour, and visual communication.

How is AI impacting Art?

AI is definitely changing the creative landscape, and I see it more as a tool than a replacement for artists. Personally, I consider AI a helper. For my personal artwork and freelance illustration projects, clients usually approach me for my own style and artistic voice, not something generated by AI.

However, AI can still be useful in certain parts of the creative process. I sometimes use it for things like composition exploration, reference gathering, or studying elements such as human anatomy. It can speed up early stage thinking and help visualise ideas quickly.

In my daily work as a Senior Visual Designer, AI tools are also very practical. They help with tasks like generating quick visuals for banners, large-format designs, or hoardings, where speed and volume can be important.

That said, I still believe the core of art comes from human experience, observation, and intention. AI can support the workflow, but the storytelling, emotion, and perspective behind an artwork ultimately come from the artist.

Now, Sajid is taking a new step in his audience relationship by launching a personal newsletter designed to give followers a closer look at his evolving artistic journey.

The announcement, shared recently with friends and supporters, carried a tone of excitement and gratitude. Framed as a personal milestone, the launch of the newsletter is intended not only as a platform for updates but also as a space where his audience can feel connected to the creative process behind his work.

To mark the occasion, Sajid has introduced a celebratory giveaway for early subscribers. One lucky reader from the mailing list will receive an artist-signed artwork print, chosen at random from among those who sign up before the deadline of 16 March.

The message announcing the initiative was simple but heartfelt. “Big news,” he wrote, introducing the newsletter and the accompanying giveaway. For Sajid, the launch represents more than a communication tool; it is a bridge between his inner creative world and the people who appreciate it.

Subscribers to the newsletter will be the first to hear about new artwork releases, upcoming projects, and other developments in his practice. In a digital era where social media often dominates the relationship between artists and audiences, Sajid’s decision to create a dedicated newsletter reflects a desire for something more direct and personal.

Unlike fleeting posts that quickly disappear in the constant stream of online content, newsletters offer a more intimate space where artists can speak directly to those who care about their work. For Sajid, this format provides the opportunity to share not just finished pieces but also the ideas and inspirations that lead to them.

Artists across disciplines increasingly view newsletters as a way to build communities around their work. By inviting readers into the story behind each piece, creators can deepen engagement and create lasting connections. Sajid’s approach follows this broader trend while remaining distinctly personal.

In his announcement, he expressed gratitude to the people who have supported him along the way. “If you enjoy my work, this will be the best place to stay connected,” he told followers, encouraging them to join the mailing list and share the opportunity with friends.

The gesture underscores a theme that runs through Sajid’s artistic outlook: appreciation for the audience that gives meaning to his work. While art often begins as a solitary act of imagination, it finds its full life when shared with others.

For Sajid, imagination has always been the starting point. The images he creates originate in mental landscapes that do not yet exist in the real world. Through drawing, painting, and other forms of visual expression, he translates those visions into tangible works that others can experience.

This process—turning the invisible into something visible—is what he describes as the essence of artistic freedom. It allows him to create without the limitations of reality, guided instead by intuition and imagination.

The launch of the newsletter extends that idea beyond the canvas. By opening a window into his creative process, Sajid invites supporters to witness the journey from imagination to finished artwork.

The giveaway, meanwhile, adds an element of celebration to the launch. The artist-signed print will serve not only as a collector’s item but also as a symbol of the connection between creator and audience. For the winner, it will represent a small piece of the imaginative world that Sajid has built through his art.

Participation in the giveaway is straightforward. Anyone interested simply needs to join the mailing list (https://muhammed-sajid-2.myshopify.com/pages/print-giveaway) before 16 March. From that list, one subscriber will be selected at random to receive the signed print.

While the prize may be modest in scale, the gesture reflects Sajid’s broader intention: to thank those who have followed and supported his artistic journey. For many artists, recognition and encouragement from an audience can be as vital as the act of creation itself.

The response from friends and followers since the announcement has been enthusiastic, with many sharing the message and expressing interest in joining the mailing list. Such reactions highlight the growing appetite for deeper connections between artists and their audiences.

As digital platforms continue to evolve, creators are exploring new ways to maintain meaningful relationships with supporters. Newsletters have emerged as one of the most effective tools for this purpose, offering a direct channel that is free from the noise and unpredictability of algorithm-driven feeds.

For Sajid, however, the newsletter is less about strategy and more about storytelling. It is a place where he can speak openly about his work, share ideas for future projects, and celebrate the moments that define his creative journey.

At its core, the initiative reflects the same impulse that drives his art: the desire to give form to something that begins only as an idea. Just as he transforms imagined images into artworks, the newsletter transforms a simple connection into a continuing conversation with his audience.

In the coming months, subscribers can expect to receive updates about new releases, glimpses of works in progress, and insights into the inspirations behind his creations. Each edition will serve as another step in the unfolding story of his artistic practice.

For now, the focus remains on the launch itself and the opportunity it presents for supporters to become part of that story. By signing up before 16 March, readers not only gain early access to news about Sajid’s work but also enter the draw for the signed artwork print.

As Sajid’s announcement makes clear, the gesture is rooted in gratitude as much as in promotion. “Thank you for being here and supporting my art,” he wrote. “It truly means the world.”

In those words lies the spirit of the initiative: a recognition that art, while born from individual imagination, ultimately thrives through shared experience. Through his new newsletter, Muhammed Sajid is inviting audiences to join him in that imaginative space—one message, one artwork, and one connection at a time.
