JSW MG Motor India has announced the appointment of Anurag Mehrotra as its new Managing Director, signaling a strategic move to drive the company’s next phase of growth. Bringing three decades of leadership experience in the automotive sector, Mehrotra has played pivotal roles across sales, marketing, strategy, and business development. His extensive industry expertise includes leadership positions at both national and global automotive giants, having previously served as Vice President of Strategy & International Business at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles and as President & Managing Director at Ford India.

Based in Gurugram, Mehrotra will spearhead JSW MG Motor India’s overall strategic vision, strengthening its four core brand pillars: diversity, experience, innovation, and community. His appointment is expected to reinforce MG’s position in the Indian market and further accelerate its growth trajectory.

A pioneer in MG’s India journey, Rajeev Chaba has played an instrumental role in establishing and scaling the brand since its inception. Under his leadership, MG India rapidly rose to prominence, setting new benchmarks for innovation and disruption in the industry. His forward-thinking approach led to the introduction of cutting-edge automotive solutions, positioning MG as a brand ahead of its time.

Chaba’s tenure has been defined by philanthropy, diversity, and transparency, fostering a high-performing, resilient team capable of navigating industry challenges while delivering sustained growth. As he transitions from his executive role, Chaba will continue to provide strategic counsel as a member of the Joint Steering Committee, ensuring continuity in MG’s vision and long-term objectives.

With Mehrotra at the helm and Chaba in an advisory capacity, JSW MG Motor India is set to strengthen its market presence, drive innovation, and uphold its commitment to transforming the Indian automotive landscape.

Speaking about the new appointment, Yu De, Assistant to SAIC President and Head of International Operation, SAIC Motor said, “We are grateful to Rajeev for his exceptional leadership in building the MG brand in India. Anurag’s diverse experience, and a deep understanding of domestic and international market dynamics, will be critical in taking this journey to the next level.”

Parth Jindal, Director, JSW MG Motor India said, “We are at an inflexion point in our NEV journey and are ready to accelerate into a new era with an exciting product pipeline. We are thankful to Rajeev for his invaluable contribution to the brand and delighted to welcome Anurag to JSW MG Motor India.
