LAY’S MINI STIX: PEPSICO INDIA’S BOLD NEW SNACK INNOVATION

PepsiCo India has launched Lay’s Mini Stix, a new stick-format snack combining the brand’s potato base with fusion-style masala flavours. Featuring Lay’s first horizontal pack format for portability, the product reflects PepsiCo’s innovation-first strategy and will be available across North, East and West India in Rs 5 and Rs 10 packs.

PepsiCo India has unveiled Lay’s Mini Stix, a fresh addition to its snacking portfolio that reimagines the brand’s potato heritage in a stick-format designed for modern, on-the-go lifestyles. The launch introduces Lay’s first horizontal pack format in India, aimed at portability and convenience, while delivering fusion-style masala flavours tailored to Indian consumers.

Saakshi Verma Menon, Senior Director, Marketing, PepsiCo India, highlighted the strategic intent behind the innovation: “At PepsiCo India, our growth strategy is anchored in reading the pulse of the consumer. As the Indian snacking landscape evolves with faster lifestyles and a growing demand for on-the-go convenience, our responsibility as a leader in the Potato Chips snacking category is to drive that change, not just react to it. Lay’s® Mini Stix is a prime example of this innovation-first mindset. We are taking our iconic potato heritage and immense brand equity of Lay’s® and reimagining it to capture entirely new snacking occasions. This launch is a strategic expansion of our portfolio, ensuring that Lay’s® remains the companion of choice for consumers, no matter the time or place.”

Adding to the perspective, Aastha Bhasin, Category Lead – Potato Chips, PepsiCo India, said: “With Lay’s® Mini Stix, we wanted to take something consumers already enjoy and elevate it the Lay’s® way. By bringing our signature potato base into a stick texture, we’re delivering a new texture and a more intense crunch, while staying rooted in the familiar flavours consumers love. It’s a fun, shareable snack that adds a fresh dimension to everyday snacking.”

The product rollout will cover North, East and West India, priced at Rs 5 and Rs 10 packs, reinforcing PepsiCo’s focus on accessibility and affordability. With this launch, Lay’s aims to strengthen its leadership in the potato chips category while expanding into new consumption occasions, positioning Mini Stix as a versatile, flavour-forward companion for India’s evolving snacking culture.
