Nerurkar, who announced the move on LinkedIn, joins after more than a decade at Flipkart, where he was Senior Director for Home Improvement and Furniture. He began his career at Unilever and brings extensive experience in sales, marketing and category leadership.

Licious has announced the appointment of Saurabh Nerurkar as Vice President, Category, marking a significant addition to the leadership team of the fresh meat and seafood brand. Nerurkar shared the update on LinkedIn, writing: “Excited to share that I’ve joined Licious as Vice President, Category,” signalling his enthusiasm for the new chapter in his career.

Nerurkar brings with him extensive experience in retail and consumer goods, having spent more than a decade at Flipkart. During his tenure at the e-commerce giant, he most recently served as Senior Director for Home Improvement and Furniture, where he played a pivotal role in shaping category growth and strategy. His long association with Flipkart saw him contribute to the company’s expansion across diverse product lines, strengthening its position in India’s competitive online marketplace.

Before his time at Flipkart, Nerurkar began his career at Unilever, where he joined through the management trainee programme. At Unilever, he held roles in customer marketing, sales and business leadership, gaining exposure to the fast-moving consumer goods sector and honing his skills in brand building and market development. His early professional journey also included internships at Edelweiss Capital and Community Development Society, experiences that broadened his understanding of finance and community engagement.

The move to Licious comes at a time when the company is expanding its footprint and diversifying its offerings in the direct-to-consumer space. With his background in category management, sales and customer-focused strategy, Nerurkar is expected to play a key role in driving innovation and growth for Licious. His appointment underscores the brand’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team as it continues to scale operations and enhance consumer experience in India’s evolving food retail sector.
