Magnum Ice Cream Company has launched a 13,000 sq ft Research, Design & Innovation Centre in Bengaluru’s Whitefield. The facility unites science, culinary craft, packaging expertise, and consumer insights to shape Kwality Wall’s brands, enabling faster responses to evolving Indian tastes and building a future-ready ice cream business.

Magnum Ice Cream Company has unveiled a landmark 13,000 square feet Research, Design & Innovation Centre in Bengaluru, signalling a decisive step in shaping the future of ice cream for Indian consumers. Situated in Whitefield, the facility integrates a state-of-the-art laboratory with a digitally enabled pilot plant, bringing together ice cream science, culinary craft, packaging expertise, and consumer insights under one roof. It will serve as the nerve centre for Kwality Wall’s (India) Limited’s portfolio, including Cornetto, Magnum, Carte D’Or, Feast, and Twister, ensuring that product development is finely tuned to local preferences and occasions.

Chitrank Goel, Deputy Managing Director of Kwality Wall’s (India) Limited, described the centre as a strategic advantage. “The new Bengaluru ice cream centre will help us respond faster to evolving consumer preferences, create products that are relevant to Indian tastes and occasions, and continue building a future-ready ice cream business in India,” he said. The centre’s remit spans the entire spectrum of ice cream innovation, from making and sensory testing to cold-chain and climate testing, across formats such as cups, sticks, cones, kulfi, and premium ice cream cakes.

For Magnum, the investment underscores India’s growing importance in the global ice cream landscape. Zbigniew Lewicki, Chief Research, Development & Innovation Officer at TMICC, emphasised the market’s dynamism. “India is one of the world’s most exciting ice cream markets, with fast-evolving tastes, occasions and expectations,” he noted. The Bengaluru hub will also collaborate closely with TMICC’s established centres in Colworth, UK, and Istanbul, Turkey, ensuring that global expertise is channelled into local innovation.

By embedding research, design, and consumer insight into one integrated facility, Magnum is positioning itself to lead India’s premium ice cream evolution. The centre represents not just an investment in infrastructure but a commitment to crafting products that resonate with the country’s diverse palate, reinforcing the brand’s ambition to blend global standards with distinctly Indian experiences.
