Kerala media group Mathrubhumi has partnered with NDTV as print partner for the ‘NDTV Power Play’ event in Thiruvananthapuram. The gathering features senior political leaders, analysts and policymakers discussing key issues shaping the state, with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan headlining the dialogue on the ‘Keralam Model.’

Kerala-based media house Mathrubhumi has partnered with NDTV as the print partner for the political dialogue event NDTV Power Play, being held in the state capital today. The day-long programme brings together prominent political leaders, policymakers and analysts to debate the issues shaping the state’s political landscape.

Representing Mathrubhumi at the event, K. A. Jhonny, Senior News Editor at Mathrubhumi Online, will share the stage with T. M. Veeraghav, Executive Editor at NDTV, to moderate key sessions during the programme. The two will lead a discussion titled ‘Minority Mandate: The Muslim League’s Calculus’, featuring P. K. Kunhalikutty, National Secretary of the Indian Union Muslim League and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the state.

Jhonny will also take part in another session titled ‘Secularism and the Electoral Realities’, moderated by Veeraghav, alongside political analyst Jaick C Thomas and commentator Rahul Easwar. The discussions are expected to explore the complex interplay between identity politics, secularism and electoral strategies in Kerala.

Commenting on the collaboration, Mayura Shreymas Kumar, Director of Digital Operations at Mathrubhumi Group, said the organisation was pleased to partner with NDTV for the initiative. She noted that, as a media house deeply rooted in Kerala, Mathrubhumi values platforms that facilitate meaningful conversations among leaders, policymakers and experts on the issues shaping the state’s future.

The event will be headlined by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is scheduled to deliver an address on “The Keralam Model”, reflecting on the state’s development trajectory and governance framework.

Several prominent political voices will also participate in the discussions, including Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, Kerala BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Rajya Sabha MP and senior CPI(M) leader John Brittas, former Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, and Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly V. D. Satheesan.

Alongside these leaders, the programme will bring together diplomats, analysts and commentators from across the political spectrum, creating a forum for dialogue on governance, policy priorities and the evolving dynamics of Kerala’s politics. Organisers say the event aims to foster informed debate and encourage deeper engagement with the state’s most pressing political and social questions.
