MAX FASHION LAUNCHES PROJECT NEW

Max Fashion is redefining festive fashion with Project New, a campaign that challenges consumers to rethink the meaning of “new.” Instead of focusing on products, the initiative celebrates individuality, originality and artistry. Curated with Kalki Koechlin, the debut edition fuses centuries-old craft with unfiltered contemporary art, creating wearable cultural storytelling.

Max Fashion is turning the idea of “new” on its head this festive season. Rather than equating novelty with fresh products, the brand’s latest campaign asks consumers to consider “new” as something deeply personal—an expression of individuality that cannot be owned, copied or replicated. This shift in perspective forms the foundation of Project New, an artist-led initiative that positions creativity and craftsmanship at the centre of fashion.

Launching across India in September through stores, online platforms and the Max app, Project New is not just another collection but a movement. It seeks to elevate artists and master artisans from the margins of inspiration to the very heart of storytelling. Every garment becomes a canvas where threads, blocks and brushstrokes carry the weight of originality.

The debut edition of Project New has been created in collaboration with actor and brand ambassador Kalki Koechlin, known for her eclectic choices and advocacy for inclusivity. Her involvement ensures that the project is not merely about design but about dialogue—between heritage and modernity, between discipline and spontaneity. The collection collides two creative forces rarely found together: centuries-old craft traditions and unfiltered contemporary art, remixed into wearable pieces that resonate with today’s cultural mood.

Block printing, a craft that has thrived for generations, provides one half of the narrative. Its rhythm of repetition and precision embodies continuity and discipline. In contrast, the artworks contributed by contemporary creators bring imagination, individuality and freedom of expression. Together, they form a striking juxtaposition—heritage meeting innovation, structure meeting fluidity.

For Max Fashion, Project New underscores a commitment to inclusivity and creativity. By placing artists and artisans at the forefront, the brand reframes festive fashion as a medium for cultural storytelling rather than surface decoration. Each piece is designed not only to be worn but to be experienced, carrying with it the spirit of originality and the spark of imagination.

With Project New, Max Fashion invites consumers to rethink what “new” truly means. It is not about chasing trends or owning the latest product, but about embracing individuality and celebrating the artistry that makes each garment unique. This festive season, “new” is not something bought—it is something lived, expressed and shared.
