Mayank Prabhakar has been elevated to Chief Media Officer at vivo India, effective February 2026. Joining the company in 2021, he previously served as General Manager and Head of Media and Digital Marketing. His career spans Cheil Worldwide, Times Internet and One97 Communications, bringing extensive expertise in media and digital growth.

vivo India has announced the elevation of Mayank Prabhakar to Chief Media Officer, a move that underscores the brand’s focus on strengthening its media and digital strategy. Prabhakar assumed the role in February 2026, marking a new chapter in his five-year journey with the smartphone major.

Since joining vivo in 2021, Prabhakar has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s media and digital marketing landscape. As General Manager and Head of Media and Digital Marketing, he spearheaded growth initiatives across performance marketing, e-commerce and direct-to-consumer channels, helping vivo sharpen its competitive edge in India’s dynamic smartphone market.

Prabhakar’s career prior to vivo reflects a strong foundation in media and brand building. He spent over six years at Cheil Worldwide, where he honed his expertise in integrated campaigns and digital transformation. His earlier stints at Times Internet and One97 Communications further enriched his understanding of India’s evolving digital ecosystem.

Industry observers note that his appointment comes at a time when vivo is intensifying its engagement with consumers through innovative campaigns and digital-first strategies. With Prabhakar at the helm of media, the company is expected to deepen its focus on performance-driven marketing while reinforcing its brand presence in India’s highly competitive smartphone sector.

Prabhakar’s elevation highlights vivo’s commitment to nurturing leadership talent and aligning its media strategy with broader business goals. His blend of agency experience and in-house leadership is seen as a valuable asset in navigating the fast-changing media and consumer landscape.
